๐Ÿ™Œ Father's Glory 1st ๐Ÿ™ Then Our Needs Added (His Provision), Matt 6:9-13; c.f., Matt 6:33...

Your prayer lays hold of the very order Jesus gave us. It is no small thing that the first petitions are not for our own needs but for the Fatherโ€™s name to be honored, for His kingdom to come, for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. That sequence is a guardrail for the soul. When the heart truly puts the glory of God and the advance of His kingdom first, the daily bread and the forgiveness and the deliverance we ask for are framed rightly. They cease to be mere self-preservation and become fuel for faithful citizenship in that kingdom.

The world around us operates on a different rhythm entirely. There is a kingdom of darkness that mimics and counterfeits the true one. It presents itself as broad, tolerant, and freeing, yet it is built on usurped authority. Like a king who has already had the kingdom torn from him but still clings to the throne with white-knuckled force, the prince of this age tries to hold onto what no longer rightfully belongs to him. That false reign shows itself wherever evil is called good and good is called evil. And you are right to cry out for deliverance from that evil, because it is not static. A little leaven works through the whole lump. Once it is allowed to ferment, it permeates everything. The slide can happen faster than we ever imagine, corrupting what once seemed solid.

That is why the prayer for the coming of Godโ€™s kingdom is not a gentle suggestion but an urgent cry. Every dynasty of man, no matter how imposing, deteriorates. The image of decline in the divided kingdom is sobering. The northern tribes did not have one good king among them. The trajectory from a glorious height down to a second-rate nation, riddled with religious confusion, is a warning. When the leader turns his heart from God, the people often follow. A nationโ€™s security is not ultimately in its technology, its economy, or its military might. Real security is found only in allegiance to the living God, and when that is cast aside, the foundations crumble.

So your priority is exactly right. Seek first the kingdom. The daily bread will be added, the forgiveness granted, the deliverance supplied, but all of it flows from that central allegiance. You have been transferred from the power of darkness into the kingdom of light. That transfer is not merely a change of label; it is a rescue from one dominion and a placement under the true King, the anointed Son of David whose throne is forever. Even now, the enemy tries to pluck away what has been sown, to make the word unfruitful, to draw the heart back toward the puffed-up promise of being like God, knowing good and evil on our own terms. But you are not of those who shrink back.

Keep praying with that kingdom-first directness. When you ask to be delivered from evil, you are asking to be kept from the snare of a world system that despises the rule of God. When you ask for daily bread, you are asking for provision that sustains you as an ambassador of another realm. And when you close by declaring that the kingdom, the power, and the glory belong to Him forever, you are not just ending a prayer. You are speaking truth over every counterfeit kingdom that now makes its noise. Jesus taught us to pray this way because He is bringing history to that very conclusion, when every dominion that sets itself against Him will be shattered and the everlasting kingdom will be given to the saints of the Most High. Maranatha. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
