We come before the Lord with hearts full of reverence, seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness, just as our Savior taught us in Matthew 6:33. You have rightly aligned your prayer with the model Christ gave us, the Lord’s Prayer, where we honor the Father’s name, submit to His will, and trust in His provision, forgiveness, and protection. This is the foundation of all true prayer, for it acknowledges that our lives and needs are held in the hands of the Almighty.

We rejoice that you begin with worship, declaring, "Our Father who is in Heaven, Your Name be honored!" This sets the tone for all that follows, for we must never approach God as if He exists to serve us, but rather as those who exist to glorify Him. As 1 John 7:18 reminds us (though we note the reference may be intended as 1 John 5:18), "We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him." This speaks to the protection and holiness we receive when we abide in Christ, for He is our shield and our righteousness.

Now, let us lift up the petitions you have placed before the Lord, trusting in His faithfulness to provide for our daily bread, to forgive our debts as we forgive others, and to deliver us from evil. We pray these things not as those who demand, but as those who depend wholly on His grace.

For His Provision:
Father, we ask that You meet every need according to Your riches in glory. You have promised in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We trust You to provide not only for our physical needs but also for our spiritual nourishment, that we may grow in faith and obedience. Lord, let us not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to You (Philippians 4:6).

For Our Relationship with God and Others:
Heavenly Father, we pray that our relationship with You would be one of intimacy and reverence. Help us to walk in the light as You are in the light, that we may have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). Teach us to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). Where there is bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness in our hearts, soften us, Lord, that we may extend the same grace You have so freely given us.

For Protection:
Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over our lives, our families, and our communities. You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and deliver us from the schemes of the evil one. We pray against every form of temptation, deception, and spiritual attack, for You have promised that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth and to resist the devil, so that he will flee from us (James 4:7).

We must also address the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus, His death, and resurrection that we have access to the Father. If we do not acknowledge Him, we cannot approach God rightly. We pray that all who seek the Lord would do so with a heart surrendered to Christ, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Let us now pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and dependence. You alone are worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. We thank You for the privilege of approaching Your throne through the blood of Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in every area of our lives. Provide for our needs, both physical and spiritual, and help us to trust in Your timing and Your ways.

Father, we confess that we often struggle to forgive others as You have forgiven us. Soften our hearts, Lord, and help us to extend grace and mercy to those who have wronged us. Teach us to love as You love, and to walk in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Protect us, Lord, from the schemes of the enemy. Guard our hearts and minds from temptation, and deliver us from evil. Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth and to resist the lies of the devil. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, just as it is in heaven.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is in His name that we have access to You. May Your kingdom, power, and glory reign forever and ever. Amen.

Let us hold fast to the promise that when we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). May we live each day in the light of Your truth, walking in obedience and faith, that Your name may be honored in all we do.

We are grateful to join with you in this prayer our Lord gave us, and to stand in agreement before the Father. There is something steadying about setting everything, our daily bread, our tangled relationships, our need for protection, inside that first great longing: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” You have laid your whole life before Him and trusted Him with it all, and that is a profound act of faith.

We know from walking alongside others that when the needs feel many and some days press harder than others, simply praying the words Christ taught us re-anchors the heart. It reminds us we are not alone in the asking. Knowing that others are praying with you, and for you, has a way of carrying you when your own words run dry. That is part of the gift you have given us by sharing this prayer: we get to stand with you before the throne of grace.

A gentle next step may be simply to receive the gift of praying these words each day, naming quietly in your heart the specific “daily bread” or the specific temptation or relationship that feels heaviest that morning. Trust that the same Father who knows what you need before you ask is attending to every syllable. You do not need to manufacture extra faith; you are leaning on the One who taught us to pray this way.

Our Father, we join our hearts with our brother or sister before You. We thank You that we can call You Father and that Your kingdom and will are sure. We ask today for the provision needed, every tangible and spiritual need, and we forgive freely as we have been forgiven. Lead us, guard us from the evil one, and let Your glory be our deepest joy. How wise is the order of this prayer, to place the honor of God’s name and the coming of His kingdom before all creature needs. This is the mind of Christ, who sought not His own glory but the glory of Him that sent Him. Until the heart is set upon this, all other petitions are but empty noise. It is our first and greatest duty to cry, “Your Name be Honored! Your kingdom Come! Your will be done!” For when the glory of God is our chief desire, He orders all else to our true advantage.

Has He not promised that seeking first the kingdom brings all needed things? Did He give His own dear Son to put away our sin, and will He not give us bread and water? Our heavenly Father, who has found a ransom to deliver us from the pit, will not suffer the righteous to famish. He gives something from the flock, from the threshing floor and from the winepress; some of us were rich, indeed, the first day we came to Jesus! He will certainly help us in our daily troubles.

And what of forgiveness? It is a divine pardon, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions.” No priest, no man, can remit sin; it is God only who absolves. But blessed be His name, He says, even He, “There is forgiveness!” Not a bare hope, but a certainty for every penitent who looks to Christ. This forgiveness is not for the first hour only; He continues daily to forgive, for the act is a continuous one, a fountain ever flowing. And it is eternal, sins now cast behind His back are gone as far as the east is from the west.

When we pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” we own our weakness. Temptations are arrows from the bow of the Evil One, and there is one suggestion so Satanic that it finds the joints of the harness. Yet we have a Deliverer! God has given commandment to save us, and we shall be saved, saved from ourselves, from old sins, from the devil, from evil company. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much His work as deliverance from its guilt. And when He chastens us sorely with trials, it is a father’s rod, not a judge’s punishment; and afterward He brings us forth to declare His works, that we should not die but live.

Therefore, come with boldness to the throne of grace, laying hold of this prayer as the pattern. For the kingdom is His, the power is His, and the glory forever. Amen. In Jesus’ name, all is secure.

You have begun well in seeking first the glory of the Father, for the pattern of prayer given by our Lord Himself sets all things in their proper order: before ever we ask for bread or forgiveness, we hallow His name and desire His kingdom. Yet let us not suppose that the words alone suffice. He who prays “Your will be done” and then clings stubbornly to his own desires rather mocks Heaven than petitions it. The true prayer is not a multitude of phrases but a life laid down in obedience. When you utter these sacred words, examine whether your heart is free from vainglory, for a soul that craves the praise of men while speaking of God’s glory cannot see the kingdom. Our Father sees in secret and has no pleasure in a parade of piety.

Consider how this prayer teaches us to ask for daily bread with moderation, not luxury. Marriage, possessions, even the necessities of life become hindrances only when our purpose in using them is corrupt. Wine is not evil, but drunkenness; marriage is honorable, but the immoderate love of it chokes the word. If you would have your daily bread, receive it with thanksgiving and use it for the strength to serve God, not to indulge the flesh. So too with forgiveness: you ask God to remit your debts exactly as you remit the debts of others. What a fearful measure! If you harbor bitterness, if you speak evil of a brother, you call down upon yourself not mercy but a curse. The reviler, no less than the adulterer, is cast out from the kingdom. Therefore cleanse the inner chamber of your heart before you approach the altar of prayer.

You have cited rightly that the kingdom and power and glory belong to God forever. Then why do you seek a glory that fades? The Pharisees received their reward in full when men applauded their long petitions and conspicuous piety. But you, when you pray, enter into your closet and shut the door. The true glory is that which comes from God alone, the adoption as sons, the Spirit crying in our hearts. This is the blessedness of which David sang: not the righteousness of works, but the covering of sins by grace. If you have received this forgiveness, then walk as a child of light. The blind man suffered no harm in his blindness, for through it he saw the glory of God; you too, whatever trial or temptation besets you, know that deliverance from evil comes not by avoiding all hardship but by cleaving to Him who works all for our good.

Do not then let your prayer become a vain repetition, nor imagine that the name of Jesus is a charm to be invoked by rote, as those vagabond exorcists learned to their ruin. The power is in a living faith that works by love. Let your daily life be a seamless garment of the petition you offer: forgive quickly, share your bread with the needy, flee temptation with a resolute will, and seek that glory which is eternal. For the end of all things is not earthly comfort but the kingdom where God is all in all. Therefore pray as you have written, but pray with your whole being, and let your works give the amen to your words.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
