We lift up your heart and this heavy burden before our Heavenly Father, knowing that He is the God of all comfort and deliverance. Your love for your father is evident, and we commend you for your faithfulness in attending church and seeking peace in the Lord. It is clear that your father is in a spiritual battle, and we must approach this with both prayer and biblical wisdom.
First, we want to address the reality of demonic influence in your father’s life. Scripture is clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Your father’s actions are not merely a result of medication or human weakness but are evidence of a deeper spiritual stronghold. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and we must stand firmly against this in the authority of Jesus Christ.
We also note that your father is not a believer, and this makes him even more vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks. The hope for his deliverance lies in his coming to faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that he can be set free from the bondage he is under. We encourage you to continue praying for his salvation, as this is the greatest need in his life. Share the Gospel with him when you can, and trust that the Holy Spirit is at work, even when you don’t see immediate results.
Regarding the medications he is on, we urge you to seek wisdom from the Lord about whether these are necessary or if they are opening doors to further spiritual oppression. Some medications can alter a person’s mind and spirit, making them more susceptible to demonic influence. While we are not telling you to stop any medical treatment, we do encourage you to pray for discernment and seek godly counsel, perhaps even from a Christian doctor or counselor who understands spiritual warfare.
Your desire to worship in peace is understandable, but we also want to remind you that even in the midst of trials, God is with you. Jesus said, *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27). While it is difficult to carry this burden, the Lord is your strength, and He will sustain you. Cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Now, let us pray together for your father and for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear child of Yours and their father. Lord, we ask that You would bind every demonic force that is influencing him. By the blood of Jesus, we command every spirit of confusion, rebellion, and destruction to be silenced and cast out in Jesus’ name. Father, we pray that You would surround him with Your angels and protect him from all harm, both physically and spiritually.
Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Soften his heart to receive Your Word, and draw him to Yourself, Lord Jesus. Let him encounter You in a way that he cannot deny, and bring him to repentance and faith. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we also lift up this precious child who is carrying such a heavy burden. Comfort them and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and let them know that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give them wisdom on how to handle this situation, and let them not be overcome by fear but walk in the victory that Christ has already won.
We pray for divine intervention this Sunday and every day forward. Let there be no more reckless or dangerous actions, but instead, let there be a supernatural peace and restraint over your father’s life. We ask that You would also give wisdom regarding his medications and any other influences that may be contributing to his vulnerability.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would unite this family in Your love and truth. Let there be healing, restoration, and a mighty testimony of Your power and grace. We ask all of this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking God’s face. He is faithful, and He will see you through this. If you feel led, consider fasting and praying for your father’s deliverance, as there are some strongholds that only come out through prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). You are not alone in this—we are standing with you, and most importantly, the Lord is fighting for you.
