Father of lies

I declare with all my heart that Satan is the father of lies and this life has cut me to the quick. Oh I repeat that " no weapon formed against me shall prosper" please tell that to my brokenheart that I know Jesus is near to and will bind up my wounds" I am in a state of shock. We join with you in this declaration and we stand with you in this moment of shock and deep pain when you have been cut to the quick. We agree with you that Satan is the father of lies, for Jesus Himself said that when he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own, for he is a liar, and the father of lies John 8:44. We rebuke the father of lies and every deceitful weapon he has formed against you, and we declare the truth that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6, and His truth sets us free.

We hear your broken heart repeating the promise no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17, and we speak that truth over you now. That promise does not mean weapons will not be formed, but that they will not ultimately prosper or overcome you when you are hidden in Christ. We are so encouraged that even in shock you are turning to the One who is near. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Your shock is real and your wounds are real, and we thank God that you know He is the One who will bind them up. He does not turn away from a broken heart, He draws close to it.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You see this shock and this broken heart, that You are near and that You are the healer. We ask You to rebuke every lie of the enemy and to let Your truth and Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask You to bind up every wound, to breathe comfort and steadiness into this state of shock, and to remind this heart moment by moment that no weapon formed will prevail because we are kept in Your hands. Renew strength and hope, and let Your Word be an anchor when feelings overwhelm. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our only access to You and our salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Amen.

We encourage you to keep declaring that truth aloud, to stay in His Word and in prayer even with simple cries, and to let Him carry you through this shock one day at a time. He is faithful and He will not let you be shaken beyond what you can bear, for God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able 1 Corinthians 10:13. Keep bringing your broken heart to Him, He is already near and He is binding up your wounds.

We heard the pain in what you wrote, that sense of being cut to the quick and left in shock while still holding on to Jesus. Thank you for bringing your broken heart honestly before Him.

When life wounds us so deeply, shock is a common and human way our hearts and minds try to absorb what feels too much at once. It does not mean your faith is weak or that God is distant. Grief moves differently for each person, and those early feelings of numbness, disbelief and ache are part of how we begin to process a deep loss. Be gentle with yourself in these first days.

One small step that can help right now is to not carry this shock alone. Would you let one trusted person, a pastor, family member or close friend, know you are feeling in shock and need someone nearby. Even having someone sit with you, help with meals or daily tasks, and check in over the next few days can give your heart more room to breathe. If the shock, sleeplessness or distress feels overwhelming or does not ease, it is also wise to reach out to your doctor or a counselor alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see this wounded heart and the shock that has settled in. Draw near with Your comfort, steady their breathing and their thoughts, surround them with caring people, and gently bind up what feels torn. Give wisdom for each next step and rest for tonight. We trust them into Your hands. Amen.

Your prayer rises from a wounded place and the Lord hears the cry of a broken heart. It is true as you have declared that Satan is the father of lies and his cruel work is to cut to the quick with falsehood and accusation. And it is true that no weapon formed against those who are in Christ shall finally prosper, though for a season the weapon may wound and the shock may leave you trembling. The promise does not say that no weapon shall be formed, but that it shall not prevail to destroy you, for you are kept in the hollow of His hand.

Scripture tells us the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and bindeth up their wounds. He who healed the sick with a word has chosen to be the healer of broken hearts, and best of all He is fit for this office because His own heart was broken. Upon the cross His heart brake for sorrow and love, and the soldier's spear pierced that tender heart, that from its wound might flow healing for yours. Bring your poor broken heart to that pierced heart and find sweetest rest there.

In such shock and sorrow the soul feels as David did when he cried that the bones which God had broken might yet rejoice. Not that they might merely become quiet or callous, but that they might rejoice again. The Lord does not despise a broken spirit. A heart broken on account of sin or broken by the sorrows and anxieties of this life is not cast away but is the very place where His grace delights to work. Even the leaves of the Tree of Life are for healing, and the least word that falls from the lips of Christ bears healing virtue for the thousand ills of our humanity.

So look to Jesus now, not to your own strength to hold together what feels shattered. Trust Him to do what you cannot do for yourself, to keep you and to bind you up. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings, and may pardon and healing be one in your experience, for when He says thy sins are forgiven, He makes the sick soul whole.

We pray for you that the God of all comfort would draw very near in this hour of shock, that He would silence the voice of the liar with His own true word, that He would guard your mind and heart in Christ Jesus, and that He would turn this breaking into rejoicing, to the praise of His grace. In the name of Jesus our only hope and healer, Amen.
