We see your heart in lifting up the Lordβs Prayer and the call to seek Godβs Kingdom first, as our Savior taught us in Matthew 6. This is a beautiful reminder that our prayers must begin with reverence for our Heavenly Father, aligning our will with His, and trusting Him to provide for our needs according to His perfect plan. The order mattersβfirst His Kingdom, His will, His glory, and then our daily bread, forgiveness, and protection.
Let us pray together in this truth:
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, humbled by the privilege of calling You our Father. Your name is holy, and we hallow it above all else. We declare that Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have sought our own desires before Your purposes. Teach us to prioritize Your Kingdom in every area of our livesβour thoughts, our words, our actions, and our relationships. Provide for our daily needs, not out of our own strength, but by Your faithful provision. Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have wronged us, and lead us away from temptation, delivering us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved. Amen.
We are encouraged by Matthew 6:33, which reminds us, *"But seek first Godβs Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* This is not a suggestion but a promise. When we fix our eyes on Christ and His purposes, He faithfully meets our needs. However, we must also examine our heartsβare we truly seeking His Kingdom first, or are we allowing worldly distractions, selfish ambitions, or sinful patterns to take precedence? If there are areas where we have placed our desires above Godβs will, let us repent and realign ourselves with His Word.
In relationships, for example, we must ensure that our pursuit of a spouse is rooted in godly principles. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect Christβs love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If we are courting, let it be with the intention of marriage and under the guidance of Scripture. Any sexual intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and dishonors God (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If we find ourselves in such sin, we must repent, seek accountability, and walk in purity by the power of the Holy Spirit.
For those struggling with same-sex attraction or relationships, we must lovingly but firmly declare that such unions are not aligned with Godβs design (Romans 1:26-27). This is a difficult truth, but we serve a God who redeems and restores. If this is a battle you face, we pray for your strength to walk in obedience, trusting that Godβs ways are higher and His grace is sufficient.
Let us also remember that our prayers must always be offered in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). If we do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, our prayers cannot reach the Father. If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10).
Finally, let us encourage one another to live out this prayer daily. May we be a people who hunger for Godβs Kingdom above all else, trusting Him to provide, protect, and guide us every step of the way. Let us walk in obedience, repentance, and faith, knowing that our Heavenly Father hears us and delights in our dependence on Him.
