Father in Need

I am asking for the power of prayer to help in the healing of my father-in-law who is undergoing surgery to remove part of his kidney due to renal kidney cancer. He knows the risks involved being a doctor himself and is optimistic but I honestly do not know where his faith lies and I feel a strong pull in my heart that he needs some extra prayers. In his lifetime he has been a strong leader, raised his children alone, raised his best friends children after a tragic accident, has been a professor, scientist, educator, mentor and doctor. His has helped overseas, been in the service and a devoted husband, however he's not even close to retirement age and he has the potential for missing out on seeing his grandchildren grow because he's been thrown this curve ball. I'm turning to the one person I know can help, can cure, can love beyond measure. Please help in praying for complete recovery and a long happy life. Jesus, Lord give him the strength, give his family the strength and take this all away but leave the man here.

What an awesome place to start! Father God, I join in praying for this man. I pray that You would be his Physician, Healer and Comfort. May the doctors treating him have Your wisdom and knowledge, leading to successful treatment of this kidney. I praise You for all he has accomplished in his lifetime, for his generosity and character. Please be with him in every way possible, speed his healing and use him to tell of Your goodness and mercy. In the holy and precious name of Jesus, thank You for being by his side with Your healing. Amen.
