Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for healing and for a lifelong companion has been heard and I join with you in bringing it before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
I pray that God in His mercy will touch your body and bring healing according to His perfect will. Come before Him with a contrite and lowly heart, trusting not only in His power to heal but in His wisdom to do what is best for your soul. As you wait on Him, continue to walk in obedience to His word, for that is part of our healing and wholeness.
I also join you in praying for a godly marriage. Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable, a bond ordained by God as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and it is to be kept pure. It is not an impure state but one that calls for holiness, faithfulness and chaste love. Sex and living together belong only within that covenant. So I pray that if it is His will, the Lord will in His timing provide for you a spouse who loves Christ, who will walk with you in faith and help you preserve the holiness that comes from faith.
While you wait, ask the Lord to make you ready for that calling, to live in purity whether married or unmarried, to use your time well in prayer, in good works and in service to others, and to keep your heart at peace with all people. Use marriage with moderation and reverence when God provides it, knowing that it brings with it both great blessing and great responsibility.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I lift up this one who is asking for healing and for a companion. Have mercy and grant health as You see fit, strengthen faith, and guard the heart in lowliness and patience. If it is Your will, lead this person to a godly spouse, one with whom to live in a faithful lifelong marriage that honors You, kept pure and full of grace. Help this person to live in holiness now, to trust Your timing, and to find contentment and purpose in You each day. In Jesus name, amen.
