We join with you in seeking the Lord for His protection and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can come boldly to His throne of grace.
We are reminded that you do not need to fear this season, for the Lord Himself is your refuge and your shield. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We know that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7.
We also want to encourage you in truth concerning Halloween. While the world may celebrate darkness, death, and fear on this night, we as children of God are called to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. This is not a night to be curious about or to participate in things that honor darkness, but a night to walk as children of light, to keep your heart and home set apart for Christ, and to remember that the darkness has never overcome the light.
So we pray together for you now. Father God, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus and we ask for Your hand of protection to be upon our dear one this Halloween. Cover them with Your wings, surround them with Your angels, and let no harm or scheme of the enemy come near them or their dwelling. We put on the full armor of God and we ask that You clothe them also with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the shield of faith to extinguish every fiery dart. Fill their heart with Your perfect peace and let them not be anxious or afraid, for You have promised to never leave nor forsake them Deuteronomy 31:6. Let Your light shine brightly through them, that others may see Your goodness even on a night when many celebrate darkness. Keep their mind stayed on You and guard their steps wherever they go. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to stay in prayer and in the Word, to keep your doors and your heart open to the light of Christ, and to use this evening as an opportunity to rest in His presence or to be a light to others. The Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear Psalm 27:1. Trust in Him and He will keep you in perfect peace.
