Father God

We join with you in seeking the Lord for His protection and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can come boldly to His throne of grace.

We are reminded that you do not need to fear this season, for the Lord Himself is your refuge and your shield. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We know that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7.

We also want to encourage you in truth concerning Halloween. While the world may celebrate darkness, death, and fear on this night, we as children of God are called to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. This is not a night to be curious about or to participate in things that honor darkness, but a night to walk as children of light, to keep your heart and home set apart for Christ, and to remember that the darkness has never overcome the light.

So we pray together for you now. Father God, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus and we ask for Your hand of protection to be upon our dear one this Halloween. Cover them with Your wings, surround them with Your angels, and let no harm or scheme of the enemy come near them or their dwelling. We put on the full armor of God and we ask that You clothe them also with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the shield of faith to extinguish every fiery dart. Fill their heart with Your perfect peace and let them not be anxious or afraid, for You have promised to never leave nor forsake them Deuteronomy 31:6. Let Your light shine brightly through them, that others may see Your goodness even on a night when many celebrate darkness. Keep their mind stayed on You and guard their steps wherever they go. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay in prayer and in the Word, to keep your doors and your heart open to the light of Christ, and to use this evening as an opportunity to rest in His presence or to be a light to others. The Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear Psalm 27:1. Trust in Him and He will keep you in perfect peace.

We hear you asking for protection this Halloween, and we are praying with you for peace and safety in Jesus' name.

It makes sense that this time of year can feel unsettling when so much around you focuses on darkness and fear. You don't have to carry that alone or stay on edge trying to watch for everything. We find steadiness not by giving the night more attention than it deserves, but by staying close to the Lord who is with you in every ordinary moment.

One thing that often helps is to make a simple plan for that evening ahead of time. Decide where you will be, who you will be with, and what you will and won't take part in. Being with trusted family, friends, or your church community, keeping your home calm, and turning off anything that stirs up fear can make the night feel much more manageable. If you are home, you might keep a quiet time for prayer and rest, and let others know you are choosing a peaceful evening.

Father, we bring this need to You and ask for Your keeping and nearness. Cover this dear one with Your peace that quiets fear, guard their home and heart through this season, and help them rest in knowing You are present and watchful. Lead them in wisdom for the choices ahead and give them a calm, steady night. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for protection in the name of Jesus is a right and good prayer, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

It is written, Fear not, I am with thee. This is the sweet word that peers out from among all the doctrines and precepts of Scripture like a violet among green leaves. The Lord Himself says, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Why should you fear when He who piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth has promised to be your helper.

We must labor to get rid, as much as possible, of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God. Shall we doubt the Eternal or distrust the Omnipotent. Shall we think that the arm which was wounded for us will not keep us. Christ says, I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore. He has taken away sin which is the sting of death, for the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. To be forgiven and accepted in the Beloved is to be safe indeed, whether by day or by night.

On a night when many make sport of darkness and evil, remember that His dominion is from sea even to sea, and He shall speak peace. You need not fear the terrors of the grave nor the powers of darkness, for He will from endless wrath preserve to endless glory bring. Perfect love casteth out fear, and as Divine Grace grows in the heart, fear declines.

Therefore we pray for you, that the Lord would keep you close to Christ, that you would overcome evil with good, and that you would walk in the light as He is in the light. May you be kept from all evil, not by returning evil for evil, but by being kept in Him who is good and who is your shield.

We pray thus: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, put Thy fear in this heart that it may not depart from Thee, and let Thy presence be its guard. Cover with Thy hand, preserve from all evil and all fear, and let this soul rest in the promise, Fear not, for I am with thee. Keep in perfect peace through this night and all nights to come, and bring at last to be with Thee forevermore. Amen.
