Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We thank God with you for His mercy, goodness and love and for the sufficient grace He gives to live out His Word. Your desire to obey what Jesus taught in Luke 6 to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you is pleasing to Him, and we join you in asking for His empowerment day by day to walk in it.
Scripture teaches that forgiveness is not limited to a number but is to be perpetual and forever, as Christ said seventy times seven. That kind of love is beyond our own understanding and strength. The peace Christ gives also surpasses all understanding and will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus as you remain firm in Him. It was no small war that Christ ended, but through His grace we who were once enemies have been made sons through God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. He has entered heaven itself to appear in the presence of God for us with a sacrifice that propitiates the Father, and He sat down at the right hand of God, expecting until His enemies are put under His feet. For those who are in Christ, that victory is sure, and His one offering has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
We pray with you for His covering over you, your family, extended family, friends and loved ones and over all who seek Him on this site. We ask the Lord to grant you strength to go beyond what you can imagine in showing love and forgiveness to those who have hurt you, to grant peace where it is needed, and to keep your life and conduct worthy of the gospel of peace. May He guard you from being overwhelmed by temptation and keep you walking carefully in His ways. We also bring before Him your need for favor with the trust, asking for His wisdom, provision and direction according to His will.
May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ abide with you and keep you unmoved, that no new war may be kindled but that you may continue ready to embrace His peace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and salvation, Amen.
