Father thank You for Your Mercy, Goodness, Love and providing Your power, strength, sufficient grace to live out what Your Word instructs... “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who are abusive to you." (Luke 6:27-28) Lord we need Your empowerment to follow through with this truth. Please help us day by day to obey Your Word help all on this site who may need Your covering, myself, my family, friends, and loved ones. Thank You for teaching us to go beyond what we imagine for those who hurt us and forgive. Please grant peace were there it is needed. Please help our family, extended family and favor with the trust as needed. Praise You for Your Mercy, Grace, Love, and all Your promises in Jesus Name Amen.

This is not something we can do in our own strength, and we praise God that you recognize your need for His empowerment day by day. It is the Holy Spirit who enables us to go beyond what we imagine and to forgive those who have hurt us. We are reminded that His grace is sufficient for us, for power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 and that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Philippians 4:13 We also remember that we are called to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32 To overcome evil, we must not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21

Your desire to walk in obedience to our Lord's own words, to love your enemies, to do good to those who hate you, to bless those who curse you and to pray for those who despitefully use you, is itself evidence of grace at work in your heart. We join you in giving thanks for His mercy, goodness and love, and for that sufficient grace which alone can enable us to live out what His Word instructs.
Obedience is the highest practical courage, for to observe to do according to all that the Lord has commanded will bring difficulties and will try the soul. To persist in scrupulous obedience through the whole of life needs more courage than a single brave act, and it is only as we are made strong and very courageous in Him that we can follow through day by day. You have asked rightly for His empowerment, for apart from a living, loving, lasting union with Christ we can do nothing. That union is loving as well as living, and its source is not in ourselves but in love eternal, free grace love, love to the unworthy, love to enemies, love to those who had no life and no hope apart from Him. Because He so loved us when we were yet enemies, He can now shed abroad that same love in our hearts toward those who have hurt us.
You have asked also to go beyond what you can imagine in forgiving. Hear the good news that there is forgiveness with God, and it is a divine forgiveness. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that the Lord Himself speaks as though to assure doubting hearts, and it is a complete and an eternal forgiveness. He not only forgave us at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and that forgiveness is perfect. Having received such full and free pardon through the blood of Christ, we are then called and enabled to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to find that to forgive becomes as natural as to open the hand which has received so much.
For the peace you seek for your family and loved ones, we point you to that perfect peace which is a present possession. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in this dark world of sin, even when duties press and sorrows surge around, even when loved ones are far away. To do the will of Jesus is rest, and to stay the mind upon Him is to be kept in peace which passes all understanding.
We pray with you now that the Lord will keep you and all who seek His covering upon this site, that He will grant you day by day the power and strength to obey His Word, to love and to pray for those who have caused pain, and to walk in sincerity seeking to know and do His will. May He grant peace where it is needed, and guard your family and extended family in His keeping, and in all matters touching the trust you mention, may He grant favor and wisdom according to His good providence, that all may be ordered for His glory and your good. May He make your obedience wholehearted and complete, and reward it with the joy and peace which come from serving so kind and loving a Lord.
