Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for a family who are in the public eye (a young couple with a child who have also included both their families in the public eye with them) and now publicly seeming to break up as the husband is being accused of cheating. The whole situation is sad, most involved are professing Christians and there also honestly (from my point of view) seems to be some bad things being done on the part of the wife and possibly her family as well. The fans of this couple are now attacking those involved and choosing sides and it's become a very contentious situation - very disappointing coming out of a situation where those involved are Christians. Please pray. Thank you.

We join with you in lifting this family before the Lord, for our hearts are grieved with you over this very sad and public situation. We agree that it is deeply disappointing when those who profess Christ become the center of contention and division, and we pray that God would be glorified even in this painful exposure.

We pray for this young husband and wife and their child, and for both of their extended families who have been drawn into the public eye. We ask the Lord to protect that little child from confusion and hurt, and to surround this family with godly counsel rather than public opinion. We pray that if there has been unfaithfulness, there would be deep conviction, repentance and turning from sin, for the Word of God is clear that marriage is sacred and lifelong between a man and a woman. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. You shall not commit adultery Exodus 20:14 is not a suggestion but a holy command, and if the husband has cheated, we rebuke that sin and pray he would confess it before God and before his wife in truth and humility, seeking forgiveness and restoration.

We also pray concerning what you have observed of wrongdoing on the part of the wife and possibly her family. We do not know all the details, but the Lord does, and we know that retaliation, slander, vengeance and stirring up strife are also sin before God. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up Ephesians 4:29 and Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32. Vengeance belongs to the Lord Romans 12:19, not to us, and we pray that none involved would seek to harm or expose one another for vindication or for public favor, but would seek reconciliation in private as the Lord commands.

We also grieve over the fans choosing sides and attacking those involved. This is not the way of Christ. We are called to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20 and to not judge, so that we will not be judged Matthew 7:1. A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret Proverbs 11:13. We pray that those watching would cease from gossip, slander and condemnation, and instead pray with mercy and humility, remembering that we all stand in need of grace.

We gently encourage all who profess Christ in this situation to step away from the public eye and to handle these matters biblically, privately, with pastoral counsel and accountability, seeking either true repentance and healing toward restoration of the marriage, which God desires, or if sin remains unrepented, following the order of Matthew 18 with the church rather than the court of public opinion. Love covers a multitude of sins 1 Peter 4:8, and forgiveness and truth must walk together.

We thank you for bringing this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We cling to Christ as our only hope for forgiveness and reconciliation in every marriage and family.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we lift this young couple, their child, and both families to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You see what is done in secret and what is true and what is false in every accusation. Bring all hidden things into Your light, convict of sin where there is sin, and grant godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Heal the wounds of betrayal and anger, guard the heart of this child, and silence the voices of strife and judgment from the crowd. Teach this husband and wife to honor their covenant, to speak the truth in love, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to seek Your will above public approval. Give them wise, biblically grounded counselors who will not take sides but will point them to Your Word. Let Your peace rule where there is now contention, and let Your name be honored by how this is resolved, whether through miraculous restoration or through humble obedience to Your ways. We ask for mercy, healing and protection over this family, and that all who are watching would learn to pray rather than attack. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We appreciate you bringing this family to prayer instead of just watching the commentary unfold. It is disheartening to see a marriage struggle in public, especially when those involved profess faith and when a child and both extended families are pulled into the spotlight with them.

We hear the tension you named, accusations against the husband, hurtful actions you have also seen on the other side, and then fans choosing sides and adding more heat. That kind of public pressure makes an already painful and private wound so much harder to walk through with wisdom and grace, and it often leaves the most vulnerable, especially a young child, exposed in ways they did not choose.

Your instinct to pray rather than pick a side is a kind and steady one. One simple way we have found helpful in situations like this is to turn down the noise for a little while, stepping away from comment sections and updates, and to pray specifically and quietly for protection for the child, for calm and wise counsel around both husband and wife, and for space for truth and healing without further public harm. We are joining you in asking God to cover them even in this disappointing moment.

Father, we lift this couple, their child, and both families to You. Guard the little one and quiet the contention around them. Give those closest to them wisdom to speak truth with love and to seek what is right. Bring comfort where there is hurt and lead each heart toward Your healing and direction. We entrust them to Your care in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your burden and we take it before the Lord with sorrow and with hope, for the breaking of a home is a grievous thing in the sight of God, and the more so when it is spread before the gaze of the public and made the sport of many tongues.

We hold fast what Scripture teaches, that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the union of the body belongs only within that covenant. Any departure from this, whether by unfaithfulness or by bitterness or by any other sin, is sin against God first of all, and must be confessed as such. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we do plead that He will have mercy upon sinners and lead them to repentance through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

Your prayer reminds us of that blessed word, There is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that God Himself speaks as one astonished at His own mercy, and a complete forgiveness, as though the debt were wholly blotted out and nailed to the cross, and an eternal forgiveness which He will never take back. Where God draws no limit, we must not draw any, for however deep the sin, there is forgiveness with Him through the blood of Christ, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.

We therefore pray after this manner.

O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look in pity upon this young household and upon the little child and upon both families who are now entangled in this public sorrow. If unfaithfulness has been committed, bring deep conviction and true repentance, not a repentance that seeks to be seen of men, but a broken and contrite heart that trembles at Thy word. If there have been wrongs on the other side also, as is spoken of, bring those also into the light, that all may see themselves as Thou seest them and may seek Thy face. Grant to each one that penitent desire for forgiveness which Thou never turnest away.

We pray for the child, that Thou wouldst hedge this little one about and keep this tender life from being hardened by the strife of others. We pray for the husband and the wife, that Thou wouldst show them the greatness of Thy forgiveness, measured not by the smallness of their sin but by the completeness with which Thou dost remove it when a sinner trusts in Christ, and teach them therefore to forgive one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven them. Make this forgiveness not a word only, but a joint work of grace, a daily and continuous forgiveness that reflects Thine own.

We pray for all who watch and take sides and make contention. Forgive the uncharitable judgments and the hasty words, and still the storm of gossip and accusation. Teach Thy people to mourn rather than to mock, to pray in secret rather than to publish censure, and to remember that we also have needed so much manifest forgiveness that for us to forgive should be as natural as to open our hands.

We ask not that Thou wouldst preserve outward reputation, but that Thou wouldst work inward holiness, that this marriage, if it be Thy will, might be healed and made faithful, or if wounds have been too deep, that each soul might yet be healed by Thee and walk hereafter in chastity and truth. Let the public eye see not a spectacle for division, but if they must see anything, let them see sinners seeking a Saviour and finding that with Thee there is plenteous redemption.

Hear us, O God of all grace, for we ask all through Jesus Christ Thy Son, in whom alone is our forgiveness, our freedom and our favour. Amen.

We join you in prayer for this family and share your sadness over what has become so public and so contentious.

Scripture calls us to follow peace with all men and holiness, and it teaches that marriage is honorable and pure. Holiness in this area means chaste and orderly living in marriage, that each should live faithfully with his own wife and not commit fornication, for marriage preserves the holiness that comes through faith by guarding against defilement. Marriage itself is not a hindrance when it is used well, but our purposes and our misuse of good gifts can turn it into one. When those who profess Christ live before the eyes of many, their lives also become a witness. We have been called to bear witness to the resurrection and the good things of God, and when our actions contradict our profession it does great harm to that witness and to the name of Christ.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we bring before you this young husband and wife, their child, and both of their families who are now caught in public accusation, suspicion and strife. You see what is hidden and you know the truth about every charge and every response. We ask that you would bring conviction where there has been unfaithfulness and repentance where there has been sin, and that you would bring truth and restraint where there have been false words or harmful actions on any side. Grant to this husband and wife hearts that turn to you first for forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, and then grace to walk in faithfulness, purity and forgiveness toward one another. Guard their marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and guard all sexual intimacy within that covenant alone. Protect their child from the weight of public conflict and surround the child with stability and love.

Lord, give this family wisdom to step away from public contention and to seek peace. Quiet the attacks and the choosing of sides among those watching, and help all involved and all who observe to pursue peace rather than division. Where those involved profess your name, help them to remember they bear witness to you before many, and to live in a way that honors you and does not deny you by their conduct. Restore what has been broken where it is your will, bring godly counsel around them, and let holiness and reconciliation be more desired than vindication in the eyes of others.

We ask for healing where there is hurt, for honesty where there is confusion, and for your grace to sustain them as they seek to do what is right before you. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
