Beloved of All
I am grateful you shared this burden for your family and I am joining you in prayer before the Lord.
Your request for salvation is the most important of all. Scripture teaches that God has made salvation entirely by His grace through Jesus Christ, not by our own effort, so that no one can boast. His name itself means the Lord is salvation, because He came to save His people from their sins. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. That confession now brings forgiveness and eternal life. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will acknowledge that Jesus is Lord, but then it will no longer be unto salvation, only the recognition of what was rejected. That is why the Bible urges us that now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. It is a great salvation, open to whosoever will come, and Jesus will not turn away anyone who comes to Him. He is the author and captain of our salvation who suffered to bring many sons and daughters into the glory of God's family. Once He has placed that new life within us, we are called to live it out with reverence and awe, not to work to earn it, but to show forth what He has already done. We are His workmanship, His poem, made by grace. I am praying that you and each member of your family will hear His voice today, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive that gift while the door is open.
I am also praying for healing. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our sicknesses and sorrows, and Matthew shows us that Jesus fulfilled this in His earthly ministry when He healed the sick and set people free. When Jesus broke the bread He said this is My body broken for you, and we remember that His suffering touches both soul and body. God does heal, and every healing, whether it comes instantly, gradually, or through the natural processes He built into our bodies, is from Him. At the same time, Scripture is honest that healing is not always granted as we ask. Paul prayed three times for a painful thorn to be removed and the Lord in His wisdom chose to answer with sustaining grace instead. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others are not, but we can trust His love and wisdom. The greatest miracle of all remains the forgiveness of sins and the new life He gives, and even that puts every other need in perspective. I am asking the Lord to touch your family with His healing hand according to His will, to restore what is broken, and above all to keep you rooted in the assurance of salvation.
And I am praying for protection. The Lord who saves and heals is also the One who keeps. He knows the pressures and dangers that surround a family, and He is able to guard you in body, mind and spirit. Even when faith in Jesus creates distance from those closest to us, He draws us into a deeper family, the family of God, where His presence and fellowship sustain us. My prayer is that He will cover your home, give you wisdom, guard you from harm and from the discouragement of the enemy, and let His love prevail in every situation.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one and their whole family before You. Pour out Your grace that brings salvation and draw each heart to confess Jesus as Lord and believe that You raised Him from the dead. Today let them receive Your gift and know they are Yours. Lay Your healing hand upon every sickness and wound, body, mind and spirit, and do what only You can do, trusting Your perfect will.
