Your prayer is asking God for what he alone can give: protection over your home, your minds, and your bodies, and the breaking of fear, anxiety, confusion, and sickness. The enemy uses fear because fear and faith cannot occupy the same heart. When David walked through the valley of the shadow of death, his confidence was not that the valley disappeared. It was that the Lord was with him.
Nehemiah understood this kind of battle. His enemies were trying to strike fear in him so he would react from panic and abandon what God had given him to do. He recognized the attack, remembered the Lord, and refused to let fear set his direction. But he also did not only pray and leave everything alone. He set watchmen in place day and night and took practical steps to protect the people and the work. Do the same. Pray boldly for God's wall of protection, and also use the wisdom God gives you for your home, health, relationships, and finances.
The cause of fear is usually getting your eyes on the enemy and his threats. The cure is getting your eyes back on the Lord. Greater is he that is with you than he that is with them. Let the word of God dwell in your heart as your defense. When fear, anxiety, or confusion speaks, answer with what God has already said. He is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, so the shaking around you does not have to become shaking within you.
As you ask him to enforce his order over your health, relationships, and finances, remember that his order is moral order. The fear of the Lord is not a cringing dread. It is reverence that loves what God loves and hates what he calls evil. Proverbs connects this: fear the Lord and depart from evil, and it will bring health to your body and strength to your bones. Seek protection, and seek his ways as well. A home is made stable not only by asking for safety, but by living under his care and walking in his commands.
I join you in asking the Lord to surround your home, to silence every assignment of the enemy, and to replace fear with confident faith in Jesus. May he teach your household to remember him quickly when the enemy presses in, and may you stand guarded by his presence and kept in his peace.
