Family

Your prayer reaches straight to the heart of what matters most, calling on the name that means "the Lord our salvation." That name, Jesus, was given because He will save His people from their sins. So when you pray for salvation in His name, you are standing on the only ground God has provided. There is no other atonement, no other way for sin to be removed, and no other door into eternal life. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you are saved. That confession is not just words; it is the submission of your whole life to His Lordship, and it brings you out of condemnation and into the family of God right now.

Because salvation is so immense, do not let it become a small thing in your mind. The greatest miracle any of us will ever experience is the forgiveness of our sins, the tyranny of guilt broken, and the gift of a new heart. Everything else, including healing, flows from that same grace but does not outrank it. Scripture does not promise that healing comes automatically in every case. Even Paul pleaded three times for a thorn to be removed, and God chose instead to give sufficient grace. Healing is real; Jesus demonstrated it again and again, sometimes instantly with a word, sometimes gradually, sometimes by a touch, sometimes from a distance. But He never confined Himself to one pattern, and many aspects of why one person is healed and another is not remain beyond our understanding. What we know is that any healing, whether it arrives through the natural processes God designed or through a sudden divine intervention, is a gift from His hand. And sometimes the deepest healing happens in the mind and emotions, where scars are mended and wounds that no one sees are brought to peace.

As you pray for your family, remember that the bond within the body of Christ is deeper than natural blood ties. Jesus Himself knew the sting of rejection by His own household, yet He pointed to a new family formed by doing the will of the Father. That does not diminish your love or your longing for your relatives, it means that even if some relationships become strained because of your faith, you are never alone. You belong to a household where the ties are eternal.

Protection, likewise, rests in the hands of the same Captain of salvation who walked through suffering to bring many sons and daughters to glory. He knows what it is to be assaulted, yet He exercised authority over every power, whether in the spiritual realm or the physical. As you entrust yourself and your family to Him, do it with the awareness that the day of salvation is now. Do not delay drawing near, because today is the accepted time. Every person who has drifted past God's final call knows the tragedy of waiting too long. But your concern for salvation is itself evidence that the Spirit is still at work; the Enemy loves to whisper that you have gone too far, but that is a lie.

Finally, lay aside any thought that you must work for your salvation. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all, and we are His workmanship, His poem, a thing of beauty created in Christ Jesus. Yet the apostle also said, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." He did not mean earn it; he meant live it out, take it seriously, let it be seen. When you obey the Lord with that humble diligence, you are not adding to the finished work of Christ but proving that His life is in you. So pray boldly, cling to Jesus, and keep bringing your family before the throne. He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.
