Family

The weight of your request falls on that precious name you closed with: Jesus. There is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved. That is where everything begins, the very foundation of healing and protection. The name itself means the Lord our salvation, and the angel declared He would save His people from their sins. Before we ask for anything else, we settle this: salvation is His greatest miracle in any life. The forgiveness of sins, the gift of eternal life, being brought into the family of God, nothing compares to that.

Scripture tells us that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. That confession is not a one-time formula; it is a submitting of your whole life to His lordship. It means you are no longer your own. The deception many fall into is thinking they must work for their salvation with fear and trembling, piling up enough good deeds to be accepted. But Paul’s exhortation to work out your own salvation is not about earning it. It is about living out what God has already worked in. You are His workmanship, His poem, a thing of grace. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all, and it brings you and me salvation as a gift, never as a wage.

Hold fast to the reality that right now is the day of salvation. Do not let the enemy whisper that you have gone too far or that your concern is proof you are beyond reach. A heart still tender to its need for Christ has not committed the unpardonable sin. The lie that you have is itself evidence you have not, for those who cross that line are turned off, with no feeling toward eternal things. As long as there is this cry within you for salvation, cling to the promise that whoever comes to Jesus He will never cast out.

Now, as for healing, we walk in a place of honest trust and mystery. Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases, yet we also read that Paul pleaded three times for a thorn in the flesh to be removed, and God’s answer was not the healing Paul sought but grace sufficient for the trial. I do not understand why some are healed instantly and others gradually, or why some receive emotional and mental healing while physical relief tarries. Any healing that comes, whether through the built-in processes God designed into the body or through a sovereign word spoken in power, is divine. Jesus did not heal every sick person in Israel during His earthly ministry, and He did not follow a single pattern. Sometimes He spoke, sometimes He touched, sometimes He commanded a man to go and show himself to the priest, and the healing was found along the path of obedience.

We can confidently ask for healing, because He is full of compassion and power. Yet we hold that request with open hands, knowing that the miracle of your salvation is the greater work. Your healing, as wonderful as it would be, is not more important than your standing with God. That inner healing of the scars, the wounds, the mind, and the emotions, He is doing that even now as you turn to Him.

Protection for you and your family comes wrapped in this same truth. There is a bond in the body of Christ that runs deeper than natural blood ties. Jesus Himself knew what it was to have family members who did not believe, who thought He had lost His mind. A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and among his own household. Your accepting of Jesus may have created an alienation among some you love, but you have been brought into a new family whose bond is tighter and whose fellowship is sweeter. God’s protection often comes through drawing you close into that habitation where His presence dwells.

Do not neglect this great salvation, for there is no escape outside of it. Jesus is the captain, the initiator of our salvation, bringing many sons into glory. The whole purpose was to make you a part of God’s glorious family, an heir together with Christ in the kingdom. Pray for your blood family with perseverance and love, responding to adversity with kindness, but rest in the family that will never be broken. May He guide every preparation, grant wisdom in every situation, and let His love prevail even in the hard conversations. He who began this good work in you will carry it to completion. Salvation, healing, and protection all flow from the same source: the Lord Jesus Christ, who is Himself our salvation.
