Family

The prayer you have lifted for your family is right, and the Lord hears every heart that calls on Him. Still, there is a reality we cannot pass over. Salvation is not simply a word we speak or a phrase we add to the end of a request. The Scripture is clear: if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. That confession now, in this life, is what leads to eternal life. The demons themselves knew exactly who He was, yet that knowledge did not save them because they would not bow to His authority. True salvation is a matter of the heart submitting to His Lordship. It is the miracle of forgiveness, the greatest work God can do in any life. Everything else, even our deepest desires for healing and protection, flows out of that foundation.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, not as though you could earn it by your own efforts. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. You are His workmanship, a poem of grace, created anew in Christ Jesus. But that grace must not be neglected. Now is the day of salvation. Do not assume that time stretches on indefinitely. There is no escape for those who push past the Spirit’s prompting. If the concern for your eternal state stirs in your chest, that is evidence the Lord is still speaking. Do not let the enemy whisper that you have gone too far. The salvation offered in Jesus Christ is great enough to reach the lowest sinner, and He will never cast out anyone who truly comes to Him.

Regarding healing, we place it in His hands with full confidence in His power, yet with honest humility about His will. He healed multitudes, sometimes with a word, sometimes with a touch, and at least once through a gradual process. Any pathway the body takes toward wholeness is still a divine work because He is the Creator of all natural processes. There are things about healing none of us fully understand. The Apostle Paul prayed three times for a thorn to be removed and was told the grace to endure it was sufficient. What we do know without any doubt is that physical healing, however precious, is not more important than salvation. The eternal healing of your soul is the miracle that guarantees every other blessing to come. So keep praying with boldness for your whole household, but press into the certainty that your greatest need has already been met at the cross. He Himself bore our sins and, as the prophet foretold, by His wounds we too are made whole.

Let nothing discourage you if your pursuit of Jesus creates distance with those in your natural family who do not yet believe. The Lord Himself knew that sorrow. Yet the bond within the family of God runs deeper than blood. When He brings many sons and daughters into glory, He weaves a fellowship tighter than any earthly tie. Your longing for your family’s salvation is good. Keep living before them with kindness and love, responding to adversity with patience, so that the grace you have received may become a testimony they cannot ignore.

Let us pray. Father, thank You for the great salvation You have given us in Jesus Christ. We confess Him now as Lord, the captain of our salvation, the only name under heaven by which we must be saved. We ask for the full protection of Your Spirit over this household, and for Your healing touch on every wound of body, mind, and heart, according to Your perfect will. Above all, we plead for the eternal souls of each family member, that not one would pass beyond the day of salvation. Grant them ears to hear Your voice. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
