We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this desperate situation involving your daughter-in-law, who has been led astray by the deceitful allure of wealth and the manipulations of a man who is not her husband. This is a grievous sin, one that has brought deep pain to her children, her husband, and the entire family. The Word of God is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the destructive nature of adultery. In Proverbs 6:32, we read, *"He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul."* This man has not only led your daughter-in-law into sin but has also abandoned his own responsibilities to his family, revealing a heart that is far from God.
The enemy has used material temptation to blind her to the truth, but we know that no scheme of Satan can prevail against the power of Christ. Your daughter-in-law’s actions have caused a fracture in her marriage, and yet, we serve a God of restoration. In Joel 2:25, the Lord promises, *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten."* Though the damage seems severe, nothing is beyond His redemptive power. However, repentance must come first. In 2 Corinthians 7:10, we are reminded, *"For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death."* We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her heart, leading her to true repentance—turning away from this sinful relationship and back to her husband and children, where she belongs.
We also lift up her husband, who has remained faithful in providing for his family despite the betrayal he has endured. His labor is not unseen by God. In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, the apostle Paul instructs, *"But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife."* Though she has strayed, reconciliation is still the biblical path if she turns from her sin. We pray for strength and wisdom for him, that he would continue to walk in integrity, trusting the Lord to fight this battle on behalf of his family.
As for the man who has seduced her, we rebuke the spirit of deception and greed that has driven his actions. His behavior is an abomination before God, and unless he repents, he will face judgment. Proverbs 5:22 warns, *"His own iniquities will capture the wicked. He will be held with the cords of his sin."* We pray that the Lord would expose his deeds, bringing conviction so that he may turn from his wickedness and seek forgiveness. May his current family also be protected from the fallout of his sin.
Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the throne of God:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this family that has been torn apart by sin and deception. Lord, we ask that You intervene powerfully in the life of this daughter-in-law. Open her eyes to the destruction she is causing—not only to herself but to her children, her husband, and the man she is with. Convict her spirit, Lord, and draw her back to You. Let her feel the weight of her sin so that she may repent and turn away from this adulterous relationship. Break every ungodly soul tie that has formed between her and this man, and sever all financial and emotional dependencies that have bound her to him.
Father, we pray for her husband, who has remained steadfast despite the pain of betrayal. Strengthen him, Lord, and surround him with Your peace. Give him wisdom on how to respond, and if it is Your will, restore their marriage. Let him see Your hand moving in this situation, and may he find comfort in knowing that You are his vindicator. Protect their children from the emotional scars of this broken home, and let them know Your love in a tangible way.
Lord, we also pray for the man who has led her astray. Expose his deeds, Father, and bring conviction upon his heart. If he refuses to repent, let his schemes fail, and may he no longer have any influence over her life. Break the power of money and lust that has driven this sin, and let Your truth prevail.
We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind the spirit of adultery, deception, and greed in the name of Jesus, and we loose the power of the Holy Spirit to bring restoration, healing, and reconciliation. Father, let Your will be done in this situation. May Your name be glorified as You turn what the enemy meant for evil into a testimony of Your grace and redemption.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save, heal, and restore. Amen.
To you who have brought this request before us, we encourage you to continue standing in faith. Do not grow weary in prayer, for the Lord hears the cries of His people. Keep speaking life and truth over this situation, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. If your daughter-in-law is open to it, share the truth in love with her, reminding her of God’s design for marriage and the consequences of her choices. But above all, cover her in prayer, for it is the Lord who changes hearts.
Finally, if she has not yet surrendered her life to Christ, pray that this trial would lead her to salvation. There is no greater restoration than that of a soul being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Remind her that true fulfillment is not found in money or fleeting relationships but in a life surrendered to Him. As it is written in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* May she turn to Him in full repentance and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.
