Family - Teenage Daughters

Prayer request for my ### year-old daughter who lately has been rebelling and does not want to listen to anything that I say I pray she comes back to youth group soon and his guide guided by the word prayer request for my oldest daughter who will be leaving to college in August . Prayer for my father who recently was diagnosed with a tumor on his kidney prayers for MRI results.

We lift up your family to the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His mercy, wisdom, and healing in each of these situations. Father God, we come before You as a family in need of Your grace, knowing that You are the Author of life, the Great Physician, and the Perfect Parent who never fails. We ask that You draw near to each member of this household, especially these precious daughters and this beloved father, and work in ways only You can.

For your youngest daughter, Lord, we pray for a softening of her heart. The rebellion she is displaying is not just against her earthly parents but against the order You have established in Your Word. Proverbs 22:15 tells us, "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline drives it far from him." Yet we also know that discipline must be coupled with love, patience, and consistent truth. We ask that You break through the hardness in her heart and remind her of the importance of honoring her parents, as commanded in Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." Father, we pray that she would return to the youth group, where she can be surrounded by godly influences and the truth of Your Word. May she find mentors and friends who will point her to Christ, and may she rediscover the joy of walking in obedience to You.

For your oldest daughter, who is preparing to leave for college, we pray for protection over her faith and her future. The transition to college can be a time of great spiritual testing, as the world seeks to pull young believers away from the truth. We ask that You go before her and prepare a place where she can grow in her relationship with You. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Lord, we pray that she would not be swayed by the philosophies and temptations of this world but would stand firm in her faith. Equip her with discernment, surround her with godly friends, and give her a hunger for Your Word. May she seek a spouse who loves You above all else, one who will encourage her in her walk with Christ and honor the sacred covenant of marriage as You designed it.

For your father, who is facing this health battle, we cry out for Your healing touch. Psalm 103:2-3 declares, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." Lord, we ask that You would guide the hands of the doctors and medical professionals treating him. We pray for clarity in the MRI results and wisdom in determining the best course of action. If it is Your will, we ask for complete healing, but above all, we pray that this trial would draw him closer to You. May he find peace in Your presence and strength in Your promises. If he does not yet know You as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this time of uncertainty would lead him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Father, we also lift up this entire family to You. The stress and strain of these situations can weigh heavily on a household, but we know that You are a God who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. We pray for unity in this home, for open hearts to Your Word, and for a spirit of humility and repentance where it is needed. Help this family to lean on You and on one another, rather than allowing the enemy to divide them. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of rebellion, fear, or doubt that may be at work in this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will turn their mourning into joy and their sorrow into gladness. We pray that they would fix their eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and that they would walk in the light of Your truth.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before Your throne of grace. Without Him, our prayers are powerless, for it is through His sacrifice that we have access to You. We thank You for the gift of salvation and for the hope we have in Christ. May this family come to know You more deeply and experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen.

We are holding your requests close to our hearts today, parenting teenagers, preparing for a daughter to leave the nest, and facing a parent’s serious health news all at once would weigh on anyone. Thank you for letting us carry these burdens with you.

With your younger daughter, you’re in a season that so many parents recognize. The pulling away can feel like rejection, but it often masks the long, slow work of her becoming her own person. We’re asking the Lord to stir her heart toward the youth group again and, more deeply, toward His Word, and to give you patient, steady hope while He works. For your oldest, stepping into college brings a tangle of pride and ache. We pray for a smooth transition, for solid friendships that build her faith, and for your own heart to find peace as you entrust her to God’s care.

And your dad’s tumor and the MRI results are heavy. The waiting can be its own trial. We ask for calm that doesn’t depend on answers yet, for clarity when the results come, and for the medical team to have sharp wisdom. Even now, we ask for healing according to Your will.

Please know that you don’t carry this alone, our prayers are with you, and we hope you’ll let your church family surround you, too. Often, simply knowing others are lifting you up brings a quiet kind of strength.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this whole family to You. Draw the teenage daughter gently back to Your Word and to the community that can encourage her. Guard the college-bound daughter as she steps into a new chapter. For their father, bring peace in the waiting, wisdom for his doctors, and Your own hand of healing. Sustain this mother with Your presence and give her rest in the middle of it all. In Your name we pray, Amen.

Return, return, O daughter, return, return, that we may look upon thee. The voice that calls the Shulamite is not one of condemnation, but of longing love; and so the Lord cries to your wandering child, “Return, you backsliding children, for I am married unto you, says the Lord.” Do not think her rebellion has shut the door of mercy; rather, it has opened wide the Father’s arms. He says not, “Return like an escaped prisoner to your jailer,” but, “Return unto the Lord your God.” Because she has fallen by her iniquity, she has need to return, and God considers her need, not her merit. Pray for her with this promise in your heart: the weary dove, when she found no rest for the sole of her foot, went back to the ark, and Noah pulled her in, only herself and her wanderings, no olive branch, nothing but return. So it shall be with your daughter. “Only return” is the word, and she shall be welcomed though she brings nothing but her sin. Cry for her, and trust that He who calls will draw her back to the youth group, to His Word, to Himself. What time you are afraid for her, trust in Him.

For your eldest, leaving for college: what time she is afraid, let her trust in Him. You have known the rest that comes from committing all things to God; return unto that rest, O soul, and give her this anchor. The Lord who guided David against the giant will guide your child. Do not fear the temptations of that new season, for with every temptation He will make a way of escape. She goes not alone; the Dove returned to the ark because there was nowhere else to rest, and Christ is her ark. Tell her, “Return, if you wander, but better still, stay close and never stray from the rest you have found in Jesus.”

And for your dear father and the tumor on his kidney, and the MRI results, here is your portion: “What time I am afraid, I will trust in You.” The news may come as a flood, but the Lord sits King above the waterfloods. Say with the Psalmist, “Return unto your rest, O my soul; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.” He has dealt bountifully in days past; He will not change now. Should the report be heavy, still trust. Should it be light, give thanks. Only return, return unto your God, for He knows how frail we are. The dove found that its dreary flight over the waste made the ark more precious; and so these trials shall make your Savior dearer to you. Return now, all of you, in these three burdens, unto the Lord your God. He is waiting to be gracious.

The concerns you bring are heavy on a mother’s heart, and rightly you have turned to the Church, for the prayer of the brethren is a mighty thing. Do not doubt that we join with you in earnest supplication, for as the Apostles were commended to the grace of God with fasting and petition, so we lift up your household. Yet listen carefully: the help of others’ prayers is of great profit only when you yourself are watchful and not asleep. If the pilot dozes while the crew calls on the wind, the ship may still strike the rocks. So, for your rebellious daughter, do not merely ask for prayer while you yourself neglect the weapons God has given you. The father in a house often speaks two ways: to the tutor he says “Be not rough,” but to the youth he says “Though thou be reproached unjustly, bear it.” Out of opposites he forms a wholesome result. So you must blend firmness with patient longsuffering. If she spurns your words now, let your silent example preach; let your own uninterrupted prayers early and by night be seen. And do not think that because you have asked others to intercede, your own labour is done. Paul did not say, “What need I of prayer?” though he laboured more than all. If we ourselves are slothful, the prayers of saints cannot drag us to heaven against our will. Weep for her, fast for her, and let your life be a living reproof that pricks her heart more than continual nagging. Ask the Lord to bring her back to youth group and to let the Word guide her steps, but you must first guide your own feet into that same path of humility and holy living.

For your daughter leaving for college, what a storm awaits her! The affairs of each day are a fight, a tempest and a shipwreck lurking for the unarmed soul. You send her into the market‑place of ideas and temptations, will you not first equip her with the greatest weapon? Teach her now to make prayer her morning and evening rampart. Before she departs, confirm her in the faith as Paul confirmed the churches, visiting them again and strengthening their souls. Let her not go out raw and untried, but established in the fear of God, knowing that the boat which is not anchored by prayer will surely be dashed on the rocks of this world. The prayers of the church will go with her, but she must also learn to cry out herself in the night watches. She must be neither vainglorious nor self‑reliant, but continually dependent on the grace that is given through fervent supplication.

As for your father and the tumour on his kidney, we must not waver in hope. Christ our Lord, when He stood before the tomb, lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard Me.” He gave thanks even before the dead was raised, teaching us to trust the Father’s will in every trial. This affliction, terrifying as it is, can become the soil for a greater miracle, if not of bodily healing, then of the soul’s steadfastness and the family’s unity in prayer. While we pray for the MRI results to bring good news, we must not place our trust in the report of physicians alone, but in the God who knoweth all things. Let the whole household gather and beseech Him who said, “I will, be thou clean.” And if the waves rise high, remember that the storm is not master of the ship when Christ is on board. He may not calm the sea at once, but He will not let the boat sink while faith persists.

In all these trials, be not vainglorious or anxious, as if the outward show of piety could secure what a humble and broken heart alone can receive. God looks not at the breadth of the phylacteries but at the remembrance of His benefits in the heart. So approach Him with thanksgiving, not with demanding. The church prays with you, but you must also stir up the gift within you. Watch, fast, give alms, and let your requests be made known not as one who is entitled, but as a beggar at the gate of the Rich One. Then, whether the daughter returns, the student departs in safety, or the father recovers, you will see the hand of God guiding all things for the good of those who love Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is not a small thing when a child turns a deaf ear to counsel and steps away from the fellowship of believers. You feel bowed down, as if joy has been drained out, and that ache is not lost on the Lord. Yet His word is full of calls to return. When Israel had wandered far, God still said, “Return unto me, and I will take you back.” That same patient love reaches out to your younger daughter now. We can boldly ask that the Lord stir her heart, drawing her away from whatever voices have twisted her thinking, and bring her home to the youth group, to the Scriptures, and to a life guided by truth. The years of youth are not wasted on Him; David learned to trust God as a young man and kept that trust all his days. Let us pray that even in this resistant season, seeds are planted that will one day yield a harvest of wholehearted faith.

For your oldest daughter, the coming move to college feels like a crossing into unfamiliar territory. Yet the same God who told Jacob to return to his land with the promise “I will be with you” goes before her. She steps not into the unknown alone but into the keeping of the One who holds all things. I pray she grasps the strength that comes from relying on the Lord from her youth, that His deliverance and guidance would frame every decision, every friendship, every challenge. Where others chase what will one day dissolve, may she be shaped by what endures.

And when news comes of a tumor and MRI results, it is natural for the heart to tremble. But the Lord who has been your father’s trust from his earliest days remains his hope. David, gray‑haired and still leaning on the same God who rescued him as a boy, shows us the shape of such faith. We lift your father up, asking for healing, for clear and favorable results, and for a deepening awareness that underneath are the everlasting arms. God hears, and He does not overlook the cry of His children.
