We have heard your cry and we join you in bringing your family before the Lord who is our refuge and strength. Your love for your children and your desire to see them walk in truth and peace is evident, and God sees the exhaustion and sorrow you have carried for so long.

We pray with you for the protection of your household. We ask the Lord to cover you, your daughters and your son with His peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and to clothe you with the full armor of God so that you may stand firm against division, manipulation and every scheme that seeks to bring chaos and isolation into your home. We ask Him to place a hedge around you, to command His angels to guard you in all your ways, and to let your home be filled with His light, with no room for darkness.

For your older daughter we pray with special urgency and compassion. We do not ask God to bless a living arrangement outside of marriage, for Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual union and shared home belong within that covenant. To treat cohabitation as if it were marriage brings deception, hurt and bondage rather than blessing. So we pray instead that the Lord in His mercy would open her eyes to see this clearly, that He would break the false sense of obligation and commitment that keeps her bound, and that He would gently but firmly lead her out of this entanglement into freedom and wisdom.

We pray that she would remember who she is as a child of God, that she has a loving and supportive family and a church family that loves her, and that she does not need to earn the approval of this young man or his mother. We ask God to restore her gracious, humble and grateful heart, to turn her again toward honoring her parents, being faithful in her work, and putting Christ first in her life. We pray that she would see that this young man is not her husband and has not taken up the responsibilities of a husband, and that the financial and emotional burden she carries for him is not hers to bear. We ask the Lord to give her courage to establish healthy boundaries, to block ungodly counsel that encourages living together or having children before marriage, and to return to the fellowship of believers where she can be strengthened and discipled.

We also pray for this young man and his mother, that any influence rooted in pride, control and jealousy would be exposed and frustrated, and that they would come to know the truth of the gospel themselves. We pray that their power to divide your family, to turn sibling against sibling, and to dishonor your home would be removed.

For your younger daughter we pray for continued steadiness in faith. May the Lord protect her heart and mind, keep her focused on her studies and her walk with Him, and surround her with godly friendships and mentors who will encourage her to honor God with her life and to seek a spouse in the Lord who will love as Christ loves the church, when the time is right. May she never see living together outside of marriage as an acceptable path.

For your son we thank God for his life and for the joy he brings. He is not a burden but a blessing, deeply loved by God and by you. We pray that the Lord would shine His light into every dark place, grant him peace and joy, help him to grow in his ability to communicate his needs in a godly manner, and protect him from any word of mockery or hatred. We ask God to restore the sweet fellowship he once shared with his sister and to let him always know he is cherished and included.

For you we pray for renewed strength, wisdom and discernment. The weariness you feel is real, but God promises that those who wait on Him will renew their strength. We pray for provision for your home so that you may continue to be a blessing to others, and for safe travel and daily grace for you, your family and all who care for your son.

As you continue to pray, keep seeking the Lord through His Word, remain rooted in your local church, and seek wise pastoral counsel for next steps and for loving boundaries. God honors a home that seeks Him first. He is able to deliver from evil and to bring good, to heal what is wounded and to restore what has been torn.

We stand with you in declaring that the Lord fights for you and that no plan formed to divide and destroy your family will ultimately stand when you remain in Christ. May He restore unity, joy and fellowship in your home according to His perfect will, and may your family be a beacon of His light.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Redeemer, who alone brings us into sonship by grace through faith, we pray. Amen.
