We join you in lifting up this family member before the Lord, trusting that He hears our prayers and knows the needs of His children. It is a blessing to see you seeking God’s will in this matter, and we commend you for coming together in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture reminds us, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). Your faith in calling upon His name is a testament to your trust in His provision, and we stand with you in agreement.
The struggle of unemployment is a heavy burden, not just for the individual but for the entire family. It can bring stress, uncertainty, and even discouragement. Yet, we are reminded in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise for material needs but also for peace, strength, and perseverance during times of waiting. We encourage your family member to remain steadfast, for *"the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him"* (Lamentations 3:25, WEB). Waiting is not passive—it is an active trust in God’s timing and sovereignty.
At the same time, we must also consider whether there are areas where faith can be paired with action. Has your family member sought wisdom in how to present themselves in the application process? Are they networking, following up, or seeking godly counsel on how to improve their chances? Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* This doesn’t guarantee immediate results, but it assures us that when we align our efforts with God’s will, He directs our steps. If there’s room for improvement—whether in skills, presentation, or diligence—we pray they would seek the Lord’s guidance in those areas as well.
We also recognize that this season of waiting can be an opportunity for spiritual growth. Sometimes, God uses these moments to refine us, teach us dependence on Him, or even redirect our paths toward something better than we imagined. We're right there with you, standing in faith for your family member's job application. It's tough waiting for that call, but we're reminded in Psalm 27:14, "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." We know God sees their need and is working on their behalf.
Let's encourage them to keep their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Let's also remind them to keep their resume and interview skills sharp, as Proverbs 10:4 tells us, "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth." Let's pray that God would open the right doors and give them favor in the eyes of those making hiring decisions.

In Matthew 6:26, Jesus tells us, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" We trust that God will provide for them just as He cares for the birds.
