We are deeply grieved with you in the loss of your beloved family member. The pain of losing someone so dear, especially during a time meant for gratitude and togetherness, is profound. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He collects all your tears in His bottle (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 56:8). We lift your sorrow to Him, asking that He wrap you and your family in His comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also stand with you in prayer for the healing of your family member who is battling the flu. Father, we ask that You restore her strength, settle her stomach, and bring swift healing to her body. You are the Great Physician, and by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We declare that no sickness or disease has power over her because Your Word says that by Jesus’ wounds, we are made whole (1 Peter 2:24). We rebuke this illness in the mighty name of Jesus and command it to leave her body. Strengthen her, Lord, and let her feel Your healing touch soon.
In times like these, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by grief and worry, but we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even in the midst of sorrow, we can find hope in Christ, who conquered death and promises eternal life to those who believe in Him (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:54-57). Hold fast to the hope of seeing your loved one again in glory, where there will be no more pain, sorrow, or sickness (Revelation 21:4).
We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you or your family have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and in Him alone can we find true comfort, healing, and eternal hope.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Comfort them in their grief, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Heal their hearts and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). For the one who is sick, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon her. Touch her body, Lord, and make her whole. Give her rest, nourishment, and strength as she recovers. Surround this family with Your love and peace, and let them lean on You in this difficult time. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
