We understand that you are facing significant challenges in your marriage and family life. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares deeply about your situation, and He wants to help you. It's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and He desires for marriages to be strong and godly.
In your situation, it's crucial to pray for your husband's heart to be softened. God can change even the hardest of hearts. As it says in Ezekiel 36:26 WEB, "I will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."
However, it's also important to address that the threat of divorce should not be used lightly. In Malachi 2:16 WEB, God says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel." Divorce should never be a quick solution, especially when there are children involved.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister who is facing immense challenges in her marriage. Lord, we ask that You soften her husband's heart, that You take away the stony heart and give him a heart of flesh. Help him to understand the feelings and needs of his wife and son. We pray for unity in their marriage and family, and we rebuke the spirit of divorce. Lord, we also ask that You comfort our sister in her loneliness and provide her with the support she needs. Help her to trust in You and to seek Your will in all things.
Father, we also pray for his salvation if he has not truly accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The scripture says:
Romans 10:9-13 WEB that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Father, if he does not know Jesus help him to be drawn to Jesus by the Holy Spirit and help him to be saved. If he has confessed Jesus Christ but is not acting as a Godly husband, help him to be conformed to the image of Christ as he studies the Word of God and fellowships with other Christians.
Finally, Father, help our sister to be the Godly wife that she needs to be. Help her to be obedient to the Word of God.
Ephesians 5:22-24 WEB Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:33 WEB Nevertheless, each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Father, help her to be a respectful wife and to pray for her husband. Help her to love her husband as herself.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Stay strong in the Lord and keep praying. Trust that God is at work in your situation.
