We join with you in lifting up your dear friend and her family before the throne of grace, and we thank you for sharing this heavy burden with us so we can bear it together in Jesus' name. Our hearts ache with you and with this family as they face such despair, weakness, and the painful reality of children who may soon be without their mother. We hear your anguish over the unfairness of this world, and we share your cry for a miracle.
The Lord sees this precious mother, her faithfulness, her heart of gold, and all the ways she has helped others over the years, and He sees her children and her family gathered in sorrow. He is not distant from this suffering. Psalm 34:18 tells us the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 46:1 reminds us God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We cling to these promises with you.
We also hear your righteous distress that in this world good is called evil and evil is called good, just as Isaiah 5:20 warned, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil. The Lord is not blind to injustice and He is not indifferent to the cries of His children. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 tells us He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction. We take comfort that this family loves Jesus so much and continues to pray, for we know that through Him we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are grateful you have lifted this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only by His name that we can boldly approach God and be heard.
We pray together now for your friend and her children and all who love her.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with broken hearts for our sister and her family. Lord, You know her by name, You know the number of hairs on her head, and You know her Chronic Kidney Disease and the weakness of her body. You know the hours she spent in dialysis, the loss of her job, the lack of funds, and the desperation her family feels as they gather this Sunday. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your miraculous hand upon her. If it is Your will, we ask You to heal her body, to restore her kidneys, for You have said in Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord. We ask You to open doors for treatment, whether through provision of funds, through favor at government hospitals, through generous hearts moved by Your Spirit, or through a healing that needs no treatment at all. Philippians 4:19 promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and we ask You to supply this urgent need.
Lord, we also pray for comfort that surpasses understanding for this mother and for her children, especially those still at school who face such fear. Be a Father to the fatherless, for Psalm 68:5 says You are a father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Hold these children in Your hands, and even now prepare loving homes and care for them if that becomes needed, and guard their hearts from despair. Comfort the eldest daughter who has traveled to say goodbye, and the whole family as they make difficult decisions. Give them wisdom, unity, and peace. We pray for our friend who submitted this request, show her how to comfort with Your love, to weep with those who weep as Romans 12:15 teaches, and to bear burdens as Galatians 6:2 calls us to do. Let her presence, her prayers, her continued sharing of the need, and her practical help be a tangible expression of Your love.
Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard their hearts. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Give this family that peace even in this valley, and give them strength for each day, for Isaiah 41:10 says Dont you be afraid, for I am with you. Dont be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And remind them that Jesus invites the weary in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
We do not know Your perfect timing or Your sovereign will, but we trust that You work all things for good for those who love You according to Romans 8:28, and that whether through healing on this earth or ultimate healing in Your presence, You will not forsake those who belong to You. We ask for a miracle that will testify to Your goodness and bring many to give You glory, and we ask for sustained faith for this family to keep praying and trusting even when answers are slow.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, asking God to provide, to heal, to comfort, and to be near. Please continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus to them, sitting with them, listening without needing to fix, speaking gently of His promises, and helping practically as you are able. The Lord sees your faithfulness in donating and sharing and interceding, and He will use it. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you love this family so well.
