We are truly heartbroken to hear about the pain and turmoil you are experiencing due to your divorce and the strain in your relationship with your daughter. Firstly, we want to assure you that there is hope and healing in Jesus Christ. It is encouraging to see you calling on His name and acknowledging Him in your prayer request.
In times of distress, we can always turn to God knowing He is more than able to help us. The scripture says Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. To be anxious means a person is divided. We are not to be divided but we are to let our request be made known to God. And then He will give us peace in our hearts and thoughts.
Divorce is not the will of God. Malachi 2:16 says For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. However, God is a God of restoration and forgiveness. If you have not already, repent and ask for His forgiveness, and trust that He will turn this situation around for your good and His glory.
Regarding your relationship with your daughter, it is crucial to remember that God's word instructs us to Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. You have an amazing opportunity to model love, patience, and kindness.
We are encouraged by your love for your daughter. It is important to pray for her and ask God to soften her heart towards you. Remember that God can work all things together for good, even the misunderstandings and hurt. Pray that God would help you to be wise in the words you choose and the way you interact with her. This is a huge responsibility and it is okay to ask God for help.
Pray for wisdom and understanding. Ask God to show you how to love her as He loves her. If you haven't already, apologize to her for the hurt you may have caused, even if it was unintentional. Ask for her forgiveness. Let her know how important she is to you and how much you love her. Keep praying in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear brother in Christ who is hurting and in need of Your divine intervention. Lord, we pray for healing and restoration in his life and in his relationship with his daughter. Soften her heart, Lord, and help her to see the love he has for her. Give him wisdom and discernment in his interactions with her, and help him to be a godly example of Your love and forgiveness.
We rebuke the enemy's attempts to destroy his life and turn him away from You, Jesus. We stand on Your word that declares No weapon that is formed against you will prosper and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh and their righteousness is of me says Yahweh. Lord, we ask You to protect him from the enemy's schemes and surround him with Your hedge of protection.
Father, we also pray for his ex-wife and her family. We ask that You would soften their hearts and help them to see the truth. We pray that they would stop speaking negatively about him to his daughter and that they would seek to live in peace with him.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We ask that You would heal the brokenness in his life and in his relationship with his daughter. We pray that You would restore the joy of their salvation and give them a united spirit to Yourself. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear brother, and remember that God is always with you. Meditate on the scripture that says I will never leave you, nor forsake you. And continue to trust in Him, even in the midst of your struggles. Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God. Trust also in Christ. Continue to pray and seek God's will in all things, and He will direct your paths.
