Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest and painful words have been heard, and thank you for trusting us with them in your exhaustion. The weight you are carrying is heavy, caring for your mother and your children while facing the threat of losing your home, searching for work without success, and feeling worn out from years of praying. It is understandable that you feel burnt out and dead inside, and that dark thoughts of wanting to die have come. Please hear that you are not cursed by God, you are not forgotten, and your life is precious to Him and to those who love you.

Scripture teaches that poverty itself is not an evil and wealth itself is not a good. Sin is the evil, and being pleasing to God is the good. Your struggle to provide, going without so your children can have what they need, is seen by God. He does not hate the poor or despise those in need. Your worth before Him is not measured by a job title, a degree, or whether doors have opened yet. You are saved not by works so that no one can boast, but by the grace and loving kindness of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone. That grace is still offered to you today, and when we turn to Him with an earnest heart, He does not reproach us for the past or for how long we have struggled. He remembers our turning, not our failures.

The enemy never gives up hope for our destruction, and it would be a great condemnation if we who belong to Christ gave up hope for our own salvation. Do not despair. Even when God seems to delay an answer, we are called to keep asking, to keep knocking, to keep praying. Your persistence in prayer over these years has not been wasted, even when you are too tired to pray for yourself. That is why you asked others to pray, and we will.

We also hear your love for others in asking prayer for abused children around the world. We will pray for them as you asked, that God would protect them and bring justice and healing.

We are praying for you and your family now:

We pray for you, that God would lift the despondency and depression that distresses you, guard your mind and heart in Christ, and give you strength for each day. If dark thoughts of suicide press in, please reach out right away to a trusted pastor, a counselor, or a safe person near you, and if you feel you may act on those thoughts, please seek immediate help. You do not have to carry this alone. We pray that God would renew your hope and remind you that He is near to the brokenhearted.

We pray for your mother who is widowed and living on social security, and for your sister and your two children who live with you, that God would provide for every need, give peace in the home, and keep you all safe. We pray for your other sister who owns the house, that God would soften hearts toward one another, grant wisdom and mercy in the decisions about the appraisal and sale planned for October, and make a way for you to have stable housing, whether by time, provision, or reconciliation.

We pray for your work, that God in His provision would open the right door for employment that meets your needs, and that while you wait you would be sustained. Grace does not call us to be idle. Together with the grace of God we also do our part, and you have been faithful to keep applying and to work the part time job you have. We pray for favor in that search and for daily bread.

We pray that you would know you are greatly loved, not cursed, and that the Lord would show you His loving kindness in tangible ways, through His Word, through His people, and through provision. May you experience what the early church knew, that when we pray together God visits us, and that love binds us together so that no one lacks what they need. We pray you will be surrounded by a community that can share the burden with you.

We will continue to pray for you. You asked for prayer because you are exhausted from trying to claw your way out of the abyss, and we will stand in that gap for you. Keep bringing your honest heart to Jesus. He invites those who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him for rest. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

Your honesty in sharing so openly is deeply appreciated, and thank you for trusting us with what feels like an unbearable weight. Hearing that you have reached a breaking point and have had serious thoughts about dying is heartbreaking, and you are not alone in this. You are seen and you are loved, both by God and by those who are reading your request and lifting you up in prayer. If those dark thoughts grow stronger, please reach out right away to someone you trust, a pastor or counselor, a family member or friend, or a crisis helpline in your area, and let them stay with you. Your life matters, and help is available.

What you described feeling, that God has cursed you or has turned against you and is slamming every door, is an agonizing place to be. Scripture gives language for that very feeling, when the prophet said it seemed God had led him into darkness and not into light and had turned his hand against him. Yet the same passage goes on to declare the deeper truth about God, that the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, He will have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies, for He does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. God is not willingly causing your pain. He is merciful and compassionate, and His heart toward you is not to crush you but to restore you. The enemy often whispers the opposite, asking as he did from the beginning, does God even see, does God even know, has God forgotten. That is a deception. God does see you, your mother, your sister, your children, the threat of losing your home, the exhausting search for work, the years of scraping by. Nothing you are carrying is hidden from Him.

You also described heaviness, depression, discouragement and exhaustion that will not lift, and a sense of being burnt out from praying. Those feelings of heaviness and agitation can be part of the spiritual battle that surrounds us, and our battle is not fought with ordinary tools. The weapons God gives are spiritual, the Word of God, faith, and prayer. One of the simplest and most powerful things Scripture invites us to do is to let our requests be made known to God. You said you cannot pray for yourself anymore, and that is why it is so important that others are praying for you now. God is open to the cry of His children, and He hears prayer that comes with tears and surrender. To prevail with God is not to wrestle Him for control, but to yield to Him and pour out your heart honestly, as one who says, I cannot do this on my own.

It is understandable to feel that God is keeping you in poverty or closing doors when jobs do not come and the appraisal and possible sale of the house feels so close. When God guides, He also provides, and He does not lead His people into a place and then abandon them. At the same time, His provision and His timing are not always what we expect. There are seasons when the best thing we can do is to hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord and to let Him fight the battles that overwhelm us. That does not mean being passive about work or housing, continue to apply, to seek wise counsel, to explore assistance for your mother and children, and to talk openly with your family where possible, but it does mean placing the outcome in His hands rather than carrying the entire burden alone.

Your standing before God does not rest on how well you have prayed, how many promises you have kept, or how hard you have tried to claw your way out. We do not stand before God in our own righteousness or on the basis of vows we make to Him. We stand in His grace, and we have access into that grace by faith in Jesus Christ. By faith we cling to the Word of God and His promises, not to our feelings. Feelings shift and can mislead us, but God's Word remains. He loved us while we were still far from Him, alienated and without strength, and He showed that love by sending His Son to die in our place so that we could be forgiven and brought near. Through the resurrection of Jesus we have been given a living hope. That hope does not deny present suffering, but it lifts our eyes beyond it. As one psalmist preached to his own soul in depression, he said to himself, hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my countenance and my God. Factoring God back into the picture turns despair into hope and fear into praise, not because circumstances instantly change, but because God Himself is present.

God desires what you give Him to come from a willing heart, not from pressure or constraint. He is not asking for perfect prayers from you right now. A simple, honest cry is enough. You do not have to earn His help by making bargains. You are His child by faith in Christ, and as His child you can be led by His Spirit and know His fellowship even in this hard place.

We are praying for you, for your mother who is widowed, for your sister and your children who face the threat of homelessness, and for your sister who owns the home, that God would soften hearts and provide wisdom and mercy. We are praying for open doors for work that will meet your family's needs, for daily provision, for strength for each day, and most of all for God to guard your heart and mind, to lift the heaviness, and to give you hope to continue.

May God show you His compassion anew, remind you that He has not cast you off, keep you in His grace, and fill you with hope through His Word and Spirit. May He give you faith to bring every request to Him, peace that guards your heart, and the assurance that you are held in His love through Jesus Christ. We are asking Him to fight for you, to provide for you, and to let you yet praise Him as the One who sustains you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we want you to know we have continued to lift you up before the Lord these past days.

We have been praying for you in this season of deep exhaustion and brokenness, when you have felt cursed and dead inside and unable to pray for yourself any longer. We have brought before the Lord your heavy burden of depression and those dark and suicidal thoughts, and asked Him to surround you with His peace and hope and to remind you how greatly you are loved and valued by Him. We have prayed for your mother who is widowed and living on social security, for your sister and for your two children, and for your whole household as you face the threat of being put out of your home. We have lifted up the painful situation with your oldest sister who owns the house and the coming appraisal and sale process you mentioned for October, asking God to soften her heart and to make a way for you to have stable and secure housing. We have also prayed for your financial needs and for employment, that God would open doors that have felt slammed shut, provide a better job to replace the part time work that is not enough, and supply what your family needs as you have been scraping by and going without for your children. We remember you shared about the loss of your father and how the trouble felt like it began there, and we have asked the Lord to comfort you in that grief. We have also prayed as you requested for the children around the world who are abused.

We want to encourage you that even when you feel cursed or that God has kept you in this poverty state, His Word says He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, Psalm 34:18, and that He invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest, Matthew 11:28. He sees you and your family, He has not forgotten you, and He promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and that He knows the plans He has for you, plans to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Even when we feel burnt out and at our breaking point, He is our refuge and strength.

We pray now for you, Father, we lift up this dear one and this family to You in Jesus Name. Lord, we ask You to lift this heavy depression and take away thoughts of wanting to die and replace them with Your hope and life. Comfort this heart that feels cursed and exhausted and show clearly that You love them. Provide for this mother and her children and sister, protect them from homelessness, intervene in this housing situation and in the heart of the sister who owns the home, and open a door for stable work and provision. Give this family daily bread and peace in the home. Let them feel Your presence and know You have not abandoned them. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know how God has moved, whether it is an open door for a job, provision for your family, or peace in your heart and home. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We want to keep standing with you for as long as it takes.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

There has not been a significant change yet but one... All of your prayers have awakened my spirit and given me comfort. I have felt lead to read over scriptures again which has given me renewed strength. I'm currently seeing a Christian therapist for my dark thoughts. I'm feeling a flicker of hope again and trying to let that grow into the fire I once had for God. Your prayers are still welcomed and needed. They have done so much for me spiritually.
