We understand that you're going through a tremendously difficult time with your family. Betrayal, disunity, and conflict are sadly common when a beloved patriarch passes away. We will stand with you in prayer and offer biblical guidance to help you navigate this challenging situation.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God is our ultimate authority and the source of all comfort and healing. As it says in Psalm 147:3 WEB, He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.
In times of family strife, we are called to be peacemakers, as blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God Matthew 5:9 WEB.
Regarding the struggles for authority and control, we must remember that God esteems humility and unity. In Philippians 2:3-4 WEB, Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.
It is wonderful that you are forgiving them each day. We are called to forgive as we have been forgiven. Ephesians 4:32 WEB, And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. This forgiveness is continuous in order to keep ourselves from bitterness and to be obedient to God's word.
You are correct in identifying that your family may not know what they are doing. We pray that God will grant them a spirit of repentance and revelation of their actions.
You have mentioned sadness and anger. These reactions are normal to these situations. However, we must be careful to not harbor these emotions. Ephesians 4:26 WEB, Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath. We are instructed to be angry and not sin. In the New Testament, God instructs us to always be loving and forgiving.
You are wise to pray for their repentance and to acknowledge that God is rich in mercy. In Ephesians 2:4-6 WEB, But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved, and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
We also acknowledge that you are praying in the name of Jesus Christ. We are called to pray in His name and it is the only way to the Father. John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved family in prayer. We ask for Your healing, comfort, and peace to fill their hearts. We pray for unity and an end to the betrayal and disunity that has taken root. We ask for the fighting to stop and for all shouting, yelling, and exigencies giving money and bad news to be replaced with love, understanding, and true communication. We pray for forgiveness and a spirit of repentance to sweep through this family. We ask that You protect them and provide for all their needs, both spiritual and physical. We pray that they will seek Your will and Your authority as the ultimate guide for their lives. We pray for salvation for each of them. In Jesus' name, we pray for restoration and healing. Amen.
We encourage you to continue forgiving and praying for your family. Stand firm in your faith and trust that God is working, even in the midst of this turmoil. Do not forget to put on the armor of God each day as you face these trials. Be obedient to God's word and seek Him in everything.
