We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the unchanging faithfulness of our God, whose mercies are new every morning, just as Lamentations 3:23 declares. Your covenantal devotion to Your people, as seen in Hosea 3:1-2, is a steadfast anchor in a world of shifting sands. We acknowledge that even our devotion, study, and care for others require Your Spirit’s inspiration, as 1 Timothy 4:16 reminds us. Without You, we can do nothing of eternal value.
Father, we lift up the plea for a transitional shift in focus, from what has been to what You are doing now. While we continue to pray for the salvation and enrichment of those from past relationships, as Romans 10:1 urges, we ask for grace to embrace the new things You are revealing, just as Isaiah 42:9 and 43:19 promise. Help us to press forward, forgetting what lies behind and straining toward the upward call in Christ Jesus, as Philippians 3:13-14 instructs. Let us not be weighed down by distractions or encumbrances but run the race set before us with endurance, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).
We pray for inner healing, Lord, as Psalm 23:4 assures us that You are with us even in the darkest valleys. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10). Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, that we might lead others to You (Psalm 51:12-13). Open doors for evangelism, fellowship, and counseling, as You did for Paul in Revelation 3:7-8, so that Your name may be glorified and Your kingdom advanced.
We thank You for the provision of quiet, inexpensive lodging near aging loved ones, as Acts 28:30-31 describes. Give us grace to honor them as Scripture commands (1 Timothy 5:4, Romans 13:7, Ephesians 6:2-3) and to minister to their practical and spiritual needs. Strengthen us to set things in order, as Titus 1:5 directs, and to finish the tasks You’ve assigned, as Revelation 3:2 exhorts. May we meet every pressing need with diligence, as Titus 3:14 instructs, offering ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to You (Romans 12:1-2).
Lord, empower us to run in a way that wins the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24), laying aside every sin and distraction that entangles us. Protect us from temptation (Luke 11:4), sin (Zephaniah 3:13), evil (Matthew 6:13), and the schemes of the evil one (John 17:15). We ask for full repentance and trust in Christ for those who have not yet surrendered to You, that they may be regenerated and nourished on Your Word (2 Timothy 3:15).
Above all, we pray for the ability to focus primarily on the new things You are doing, as Isaiah 48:6 declares. Let us not cling to the past but step boldly into the future You have prepared. Thank You for the privilege of serving as priests of the Good News, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:16). May we abide in Christ, follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 10:3-4, Romans 8:14), and make disciples as You commanded.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Without Him, our prayers are empty, and our efforts are in vain. We surrender afresh to His lordship, trusting in His finished work on the cross and His resurrection power at work within us. Amen.
