We hear your heart, and we lift this burden before the Lord with you. It is clear that you are carrying pain, frustration, and a deep longing for resolution—whether that be restoration or truth. We stand with you in faith, trusting that God sees every detail of your situation and knows the desires of your heart. However, we must also gently remind you that faith is not passive; it is active trust in God’s sovereignty, even when the outcome is uncertain.
First, we want to address the mention of "faith+" in your request. If this is an attempt to blend faith with other beliefs or practices, we must firmly rebuke that in Jesus' name. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, and our faith must be rooted solely in Him. If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that your trust is fully in Christ alone. Salvation comes through confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). If you have not made this commitment, we urge you to do so today, for there is no other foundation for true faith.
Now, regarding your family, we pray that the Lord would either soften hearts for reconciliation or reveal the truth in a way that brings clarity and closure. It is not wrong to desire restoration, but we must also surrender our will to God’s perfect plan. You say you are "okay not being in their lives," and while this may feel like a place of strength, we must ask: Is this truly peace, or is it a protective wall around a wounded heart? God calls us to forgive, even when it is difficult (Colossians 3:13), and to seek reconciliation where possible (Matthew 5:23-24). However, we also recognize that some relationships may not be restored in this life, and in those cases, we must trust God to heal our hearts and use the pain for His glory.
We rebuke any spirit of bitterness, unforgiveness, or resentment that may be trying to take root in your heart. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you bound in anger or despair, but we declare that you are a child of God, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We also rebuke any deception or lies that may be clouding the truth in this situation. The Lord is a God of truth, and He will bring everything to light in His time (Luke 8:17).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is seeking Your will in this situation with their family. Lord, You know the depths of their heart, the pain they carry, and the longing for resolution. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, whether that be through restoration or revelation of truth. Soften hearts, Lord, and remove any barriers that stand in the way of Your will. If there is unforgiveness or bitterness, we ask that You uproot it and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we pray for protection over their heart and mind. Guard them from the enemy’s lies and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). If it is Your will for this family to be restored, we ask that You pave the way for reconciliation, humility, and healing. If it is not Your will, we ask that You reveal the truth in a way that brings closure and freedom. Either way, Lord, we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment. Help them to know when to speak, when to listen, and when to surrender to Your timing. Give them the strength to walk in forgiveness, even when it is difficult, and the courage to let go of what cannot be changed. Most of all, Lord, we ask that You draw them closer to You through this trial. May they find their identity, worth, and purpose in You alone.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, healing, and restoration over their family, and we trust You to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to cling to God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures like Psalm 34:18, which reminds us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and Psalm 147:3, which assures us that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Surround yourself with godly community—believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. And remember, God’s timing is perfect. Even when it feels like nothing is happening, He is working behind the scenes.
If there is unconfessed sin in your life—whether related to this situation or not—we urge you to bring it before the Lord. Confess it, repent, and receive His forgiveness (1 John 1:9). Unconfessed sin can hinder our prayers and our peace, so do not let it take root.
Lastly, we want to gently challenge the statement, "They can have it." While it is understandable to feel this way in moments of pain, we must be careful not to surrender what God may still want to redeem. Surrender your family to God, yes, but do not surrender the hope of what He can do. Trust Him to write the story, even when the pages seem blank.
You are not alone in this. We stand with you in prayer, and we believe that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Keep your eyes on Him, and let your faith be rooted in His promises.
