Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been received with thanksgiving and we join you in lifting these requests before the Father.
We pray with you for faith, for without faith it is impossible to please Him, and that faith comes by hearing the Word of Christ. We ask that the Lord will open the eyes of understanding and give a deep hunger for the sincere milk of the Word, and then strength to go on to solid food, that you and your elderly loved ones may be rooted and grounded in love, with Christ dwelling in your hearts by faith, and be transformed by the renewing of your minds to know His good and perfect will.
We also join you in asking for healing and provision. As the Gospels show, when Christ touched the fevered body He not only quenched the fever but gave back perfect health at once, showing His power to restore fully. We ask the Lord in His mercy to grant health to body and soul, to keep you all from evil and from the evil one, to sanctify you in the truth of His Word, and to supply all that is needed for life and godliness, even as your souls prosper. We pray for grace to honor parents according to the command that carries promise, and for peace within your walls.
Continue faithfully in hearing and doing the Word. Even when fruit seems delayed, the hearing is not in vain. As a tree may receive many strokes before it falls, so the heart often receives the Word many times before abundant fruit appears at once. God sees the root. So remain effectual doers and not hearers only, letting the Word of Christ dwell richly in you, bearing the fruit of the Spirit and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, lift His countenance upon you and give you peace, and establish you all in maturity and love until you bear fruit as true disciples for His glory. In the name of Jesus we pray.
