Your honest request for prayer has been heard and we are bringing your face and body aches before the Lord with you.
We want you to know you are not carrying this alone. Scripture teaches that we are joined together as one body in Christ, with many members, and when one member suffers the whole body feels it. In that same way we share your burden and we are praying for you and rejoicing with you as God lifts and strengthens you.
We join you in praying for relief from this pain and for ongoing health. There is a well known verse where the writer expresses his wish that his friend would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is a beautiful and loving wish, not a guarantee that we will never be sick in this life, but it does show us something important. There is a real connection between the health of our inner life and the health of our body. What goes on in our heart and mind can affect our body chemistry and our physical well being, and caring for our soul through peace and trust in the Lord is part of caring for our body.
God made your body with wonderful design and purpose. He formed it from the dust and He knows its needs for air, water, food and rest. This present body is temporary, and one day He has promised those who belong to Him a new body made by Him that will last forever, but while we live in this body He cares about how we steward it. Scripture teaches that your body is not your own if you belong to Christ, it is a temple of the Holy Spirit, bought with a price, and we are called to offer it to God to use for what is right and holy and to glorify Him in it. That means we do not have to be ruled by our physical drives or pains, but we can ask Him to dwell in us and to help us honor Him with our bodies.
Part of honoring Him is practical stewardship. God is interested in your health, and that includes simple faithfulness in daily life, such as getting rest, drinking water, eating nourishing food rather than what harms the body, and keeping clean, which helps protect against sickness. These small acts of care work together with prayer and trust.
We also remember that the prophet Isaiah spoke of the suffering of the coming Savior, and the Gospel shows that this includes both our spiritual healing from sin and our physical healing. Jesus bore our infirmities, and we can bring every sickness to Him with confidence. At the same time not every person is given the same gift and not every healing comes in the same way or time, but we can trust His love and His power, whether He brings relief now or sustains us through a season of weakness, knowing that perfect and complete healing will be ours when we are present with the Lord.
So we pray for you now, that the Lord would ease the aches in your face and body, strengthen you, grant you wisdom to care for the body He has given you, and cause your soul to prosper as you walk close to Jesus. We pray that His peace would guard your heart and mind, and that He would use your life and your body for His good purposes.
We also join your prayer for blessing on those around you, and we ask God to bless you and your family and friends, to draw each of you closer to Himself through faith in Christ, and to keep you in His care.
