The eye is the lamp of the body, and when its sight is dimmed or taken, a heavy darkness falls upon the whole frame. Your trial is not a small one. The pain of surgery and the anxious waiting for restored vision press hard upon you. But remember Him who stood in the synagogue and said to the man with the withered hand, "Stretch forth thine hand." That hand was restored whole, like the other. He who commanded and it was done is the same Lord today, and no malady of the flesh is beyond the reach of His word.
Yet this house of prayer is a spiritual surgery, and here we learn that healing does not always come at once. A tree may receive ten strokes of the axe and seem to stand unmoved, but the eleventh fells it. It is not the final blow alone but all that went before that accomplished the work. So do not regard your prayers as wasted, nor imagine that God has turned a deaf ear. He is not unrighteous to forget your work, the love you have shown toward His name, and the faith with which you cry out to Him. The dark room suits diseased eyes, and when the inner vision is clouded by discouragement, it is natural to withdraw from the light of hope. But we must not cease from the healing treatment, even when sight is slow to return.
Therefore, ask boldly for the restoration of your physical eyesight, for our Lord is merciful and mighty to save. But let your request be seasoned with salt: entreat Him also to preserve the eyes of your heart from the rottenness of despair and sin. The greater miracle is to walk in light though the body gropes in shadow, and to see His face by faith when sight is a distant rumor. Elias comes and restores all things, turning the hearts of the fathers to the children; so too the Great Physician restores what has decayed, first within and then without.
Above all, cling to the gift that surpasses healings and tongues and knowledge. Love casteth out fear, the fear that your cry goes unanswered. Love abides when the outer man perishes and the inward man is renewed day by day. Lay hold on Him in love, you who have ministered to the saints and do minister, and trust that whether before or after, your eyes shall behold the glory of the Lord in the land of the living. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you for sharing this request. Surgery is behind you, and now you are in the path of recovery. I join you in asking for the full restoration of your eyesight in Jesus’ name.
We see in the Gospels that Jesus healed in many ways, sometimes with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes over a process. One healing even seemed gradual, as sight came back in stages. Every genuine healing is from Him, whether it arrives in an instant or unfolds through the body’s own mending, because He is the One who designed those restorative processes. So as your eye heals, that work is no less His hand than a sudden miracle would be.
I don’t understand why some are healed in dramatic fashion and others are not, or why some people who trust God deeply still suffer. I do know it is wrong to measure anyone’s faith by the speed or completeness of their recovery. The Scripture shows that even the Apostle Paul lived with a persistent affliction he was not delivered from. But we bring our needs to the Lord and trust His love.
Perhaps for you, this season of waiting is an opportunity to release faith in a quiet, persistent way, not a frantic demand, but a steady, believing touch, like those who reached for the hem of Christ’s garment and found wholeness. I pray that you will sense His presence with you, that your healing will progress well, and that your sight will be restored to full strength. May the peace of Christ guard your heart as you wait.
