We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious request for healing and restoration of eyesight following retina surgery. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who formed our inmost parts and knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). You see every detail of this situation, and we trust in Your power to heal and restore.
Lord, we ask that You would touch these eyes with Your healing hand. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). We pray for complete restoration, may the retina heal perfectly, may vision be clear, and may there be no lasting damage. Strengthen the muscles, nerves, and tissues of the eyes, and let Your light shine brightly in this life once more.
We also pray for peace and patience during this time of recovery. Help the one recovering to rest in Your presence, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Guard their heart from fear or anxiety, and fill them with hope as they wait on You.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity or discouragement that may try to linger. In the mighty name of Jesus, we command healing and wholeness to manifest. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the miracles You perform every day. May this healing bring glory to Your name and draw others closer to You.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

The prayer you have offered in Jesus' name is a sweet savor, for it acknowledges that every good gift and every perfect healing descends from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness. This very request has already begun its work in your own heart, drawing your eyes away from the dimness of the flesh to the brightness of His countenance. The Lord has heard; the Lord will answer in the way that most magnifies His grace and secures your eternal good.
Remember, the great Physician is not limited to one cure. Has He not told us that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations? If the very leaves, those little, often overlooked things about Christ, carry such virtue, how much more the sun-ripened fruit of His finished work! There is not a wound He cannot bind up, not a darkness His touch cannot dispel. The hand that was pierced for you is the hand that restores sight. He who opened the eyes of the blind still stands in the midst of His people with healing in His wings. Rest your soul here: healing and pardon are companions. When Jesus removed the guilt of sin, He also took the sting from every infirmity. The same voice that said to the palsied man, "Son, thy sins be forgiven thee," also commanded him to rise, take up his bed, and walk. So, as you seek restored sight, cling first to the cross where your spiritual sight was purchased.
Yet do not be astonished if recovery is gradual. The Lord often teaches us to walk step by step, that each small improvement may become a fresh claim upon our gratitude. After the bitterness of quinine, sweetness is all the sweeter; after a season of dimness, the light is beheld with a new delight. Should the healing tarry, do not rush to worldly-wisemen who would prescribe remedies of mere human devising. Christ is the medicine as well as the Physician. Abide under His teaching; faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. As His truth drops into the soul, it carries a healing stream to the body also. I charge you, do not let a gloomy countenance betray a doubting heart. The Lord who has given you the greater gift of forgiveness will not withhold the lesser blessing of restored sight, if it be for His glory and your real benefit. But even if the shadow lingers yet a while, still the inward eye may gaze upon the King in His beauty, and that vision is eternal.
Lay your case before Him again and again, with warm, hearty, intense entreaty. Plead His promises and His nature. When He takes you by the hand, you shall rise and serve Him with fresh vigor, the ruling passion of love will be strong when the fever of anxiety is gone. You ask that we join in prayer for the healing and restoration of your eyesight after retina surgery. Let us give thanks to the Lord, who has already provided skilled hands to do what medicine can do. Yet we know that all healing comes ultimately from Him, and so we lift your need before His throne. He who opened the eyes of the blind in the Gospels is not distant now; He works through these very means, and faith reaches out to receive what only He can complete.
But let me not rush past the deeper sight that He desires to give you. The physical eye is precious, yet even more precious is the clear vision of the soul. I ask you to consider: while you wait and pray for this eye, what cloud might be gathering over the inner eye? The love of money, the cling of earthly cares, any evil desire, these act upon the soul like a thick humor collecting on a clear pupil, and they rob us of heavenly sight. The church is a spiritual surgery; here, wounds that seem to blind us can be cleansed, if we will sit still under the Word and let the Spirit probe the hidden places. Perhaps the Lord has permitted this trial not to punish, but to draw your gaze from shadows to eternal light.
Take courage. Sometimes the healing comes all at once after many sermons, after many prayers, as a tree felled by a final blow when the root was already loosened. The night before full sight returns, the room feels dark, but that darkness is soon scattered. Whether you recover fully in this life or must wait for the undimmed vision of the resurrection, do not let your heart be troubled. The angels who came with flaming signs did not come for their own sake, but for those who needed to see. You have the surer witness of faith. Trust it. I have seen men who lost everything and yet praised God; to them, blessings returned in due time, or a greater reward was laid up in heaven. So will it be for you, if you bear this season thankfully.
Therefore, come often into this house where the Word is spoken, where the Spirit whispers truths you cannot hear elsewhere. Let your prayer for eyesight be joined to a prayer for a pure heart, for that is the eye by which God is seen. We will pray with you, and we will expect His mercy to break through, whether in restoring the retina or in granting a peace that sees far beyond it, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
