Thank you for sharing this need about your eyes and the suffering these allergies have caused. I am joining with you in prayer and asking the Lord to bring relief and healing soon.
Prayer rests on relationship. When you can truly call God your Father through faith in Jesus Christ, you can come to Him with confidence that He hears you. He already knows what you need before you ask, so prayer is not about informing Him. It is about opening the door for Him to do what He has desired to do, without forcing His way past your will. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins, the most important prayer you can pray first is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner. That step establishes the relationship that makes all other prayer meaningful.
The Lord wants to meet you according to your specific need, and for healing He reveals Himself as the Lord our healer. Jesus showed this in His own ministry when He healed the sick, and the early church continued to bring the sick for prayer. Scripture teaches that if any among us are sick, they should call for the elders to pray and anoint with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise them up. Sometimes God brings instant healing, sometimes healing comes as a process, and sometimes He sustains us by His grace and says, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. With men some things are impossible, but with God all things are possible, and the fervent prayer of a righteous person that comes from the heart avails much.
The purpose of prayer is not to make God do what we want, but to see His will done on earth. That is why the wisest prayer we can pray is, Lord, have Your way in my life and do what You know is best. Prayer begins with God and His purposes, He makes His will known to our hearts, we express it back to Him, and then He accomplishes it. I am agreeing with you now concerning this need, believing the promise that when two or three agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done.
Scripture also says the eye is the light of the body, and what enters through the eye affects the whole person, so it is wise to guard what we allow in through that gate. At the same time God cares deeply about the physical suffering of your eyes. He sees the irritation, the discomfort, and the weariness it brings, and difficulties like this often drive us to seek Him more earnestly, as David did when he cried out for God to hear his supplication.
So I pray with you now, Father, in the name of Jesus, You know this need before it was spoken. You are the Lord who heals. I ask that You would touch these eyes, calm the allergic reaction, remove the irritation and bring clear, comfortable sight. Bring healing according to Your perfect will, whether instantly or through a process, and give peace and comfort while waiting. If there is any delay, use it for Your good purpose and give grace to endure. Above all, let Your will be done in this life, and draw this dear one closer to Yourself through this trial. Amen.
Please keep trusting Him and keep bringing this need before Him. He hears, He cares, and He is able.
