We stand with you in this trial, lifting your burden before the Lord, for He is the God who sees all things and knows the depths of every heart. The pain of working alongside someone who sows discord, speaks deceitfully, and manipulates others is a heavy cross to bear, but we are reminded that nothing is hidden from our Father. *"For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops"* (Luke 12:2-3, WEB). The Lord will bring to light what is done in secret, and His truth will prevail over every lie and scheme of the enemy.
It is right to cry out for justice, for the Lord detests those who stir up conflict among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19 declares, *"There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."* The behavior you describe is not only toxic but an abomination in the sight of God. We pray that He will expose every hidden motive, every manipulative word, and every double-faced action. May the Lord grant your department headāindeed, the entire workplaceādiscernment to see through the flattery and recognize the spirit of division at work. *"The simple believe everything, but the prudent give thought to their steps"* (Proverbs 14:15, WEB). We ask that the Lord would open their eyes to the truth, that they may no longer be deceived by smooth words or false kindness.
Yet even as we pray for exposure and justice, we must also remember the call to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. This does not mean tolerating sin or injustice, but it does mean guarding our hearts against bitterness and anger. *"Donāt say, āI will pay back evil.ā Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you"* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB). Jesus tells us, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). This is not a call to passivity but to trust in Godās justice while maintaining our own integrity. We must resist the temptation to retaliate or engage in the same deceitful behavior, for *"if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all people. Donāt seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to Godās wrath. For it is written, āVengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lordā* (Romans 12:18-19, WEB).
Let us pray together for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child who is enduring the weight of deception, manipulation, and division in their workplace. You are the God of truth, and no scheme formed against Your people will prosper. We ask that You expose every hidden agenda, every lying tongue, and every heart that seeks to sow discord. Shine Your light into the darkness, Lord, and let the truth be revealed in Your perfect timing. Grant wisdom and discernment to those in authority, that they may see through the flattery and recognize the spirit of division at work. Protect Your child from the snares of bitterness and anger, and fill them instead with Your peace and patience. Give them the strength to endure each day with integrity, reflecting Your character in all they do. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we trust in Your justice to prevail. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your peace reign in their workplace. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, knowing that the Lord sees your suffering and will act on your behalf. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will act"* (Psalm 37:5, WEB). Continue to walk in integrity, even when others do not, for the Lord honors those who honor Him. *"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil"* (1 Peter 3:12, WEB). Trust in Him, and He will be your shield and your reward. If the toxicity becomes unbearable or if you are being asked to compromise your faith or integrity, we also pray for wisdom about whether this is a season to endure or a time to seek a new path. The Lord will guide your steps if you seek Him first.
Stay rooted in prayer, in Scripture, and in the fellowship of believers who can support you. You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord fights for you. *"Donāt be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you," says Yahweh* (Jeremiah 1:8, WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and He will see you through.
