We hear your cry of exhaustion and we lift you up together before the Father in our time of prayer. To be depleted mentally, physically and emotionally while also carrying sickness and anxiety about your rent is a heavy burden, and we want you to know that God sees your struggle and cares deeply for you in this moment.
The Lord invites us to bring this very kind of weariness to Him. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. We are also told in 1 Peter 5:7 to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Your anxiety about contacting your estate agents and landlord, and your sleepless nights, are not hidden from Him. He wants to exchange your anxiety for His peace, as we read in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. For your sleeplessness and sickness, we cling to Psalm 127:2, for he gives sleep to his loved ones, and to Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the faint. To him who has no might he increases strength. And for your fear about provision, we remember Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We encourage you to face tomorrow's conversation with honesty and peace. Contact your estate agents and landlord promptly and explain clearly as you have shared with us, that there will be a short shortfall that you will be able to pay a week on Monday. God honors integrity and diligence, and He often softens hearts when we walk in truth. Remember His promise in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and in Matthew 6:31-33 to seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Continue to be positive and hopeful, but let that hope be anchored not just in positive thinking, but in the character of God who is your provider and your healer.
We noticed your prayer closed with Amen but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why this matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And we are told in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know God's rest and peace, we must first come to Him through faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today, for in Romans 10:9 we read, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace for our dear one who is exhausted and depleted. Lord, You see the sickness, the two nights without peaceful sleep, and the anxiety about the rent shortfall. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon their body and to grant them deep, restorative sleep tonight. Quiet their anxious thoughts and guard their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them strength where they have no might and renew them as they wait on You. Provide for this financial need according to Your riches in glory and grant favor with the estate agents and landlord tomorrow, giving our loved one words of clarity and calm and giving those who hear grace and understanding. Help them to rest not in circumstances but in You, knowing You are with them and will uphold them with Your righteous right hand. Draw them ever closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and find true rest for their soul. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to keep casting your cares on Him each time anxiety rises, to rest in His Word, and to take practical steps of self care, prayer, and honest communication tomorrow. The Lord is near to you and He will carry you through this week.
