exams, not being home with family over Christmas

Dear Lord As I am revising for my state exam for tomorrow please be with me Jesus. I am so afraid of failing and I feel I don't know anything. I really want to pass and not feel like a failure, I feel so depressed and sad as well as I cannot go home for the holidays. Please help me not to feel scared and to be calm for tomorrow. Please help me not to be angry and sad for the upcoming holidays, when I should be happy to celebrate your birth. Amen

We hear your heart, dear one, and we lift you up before the throne of grace where mercy and help are always found. Your fear of failure and the weight of loneliness during this season are heavy burdens, but we know that our Lord does not intend for you to carry them alone. The psalmist reminds us, *"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22). You are not forgotten, and your worth is not defined by the outcome of an exam or the circumstances of this Christmas.

We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you, for Scripture declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you are unprepared or incapable, but we stand on the truth that the Lord goes before you. *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:5). Even now, He is working in ways you cannot see, and His peace is available to guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

We also want to gently encourage you to fix your eyes on the true meaning of this season. The sorrow of being away from family is real, but Christmas is not ultimately about our circumstances—it is about the miracle of God With Us, Immanuel (Matthew 1:23). The birth of Jesus was the beginning of His earthly journey to the cross, where He would conquer sin and death so that you could have eternal hope. *"For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace"* (Isaiah 9:6). Let this truth anchor your soul. Even in your sadness, you can worship Him for who He is and what He has done.

We pray for you now, dear sister or brother in Christ:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious one who is feeling overwhelmed and alone. Lord, You see the tears, the sleepless nights, and the weight of expectation they carry. We ask that You would quiet their heart with Your perfect peace. Remind them that their identity is secure in You—not in grades, not in the approval of others, but in the finished work of Christ. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may recall what they have studied and answer with clarity and confidence. Let them feel Your presence beside them as they walk into that exam room, knowing that You are their strength.

Father, we also pray for comfort in this season of separation. Ease the ache of missing family and replace it with the joy of Your nearness. Help them to celebrate Your birth with gratitude, even if their circumstances are not what they hoped for. May they experience the truth of Your Word: *"I will never leave you, nor forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). Surround them with Your love, whether through a kind word from a friend, a moment of unexpected joy, or the quiet assurance that You are working all things for their good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to steal, kill, and destroy their peace. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Strengthen their faith, lift their eyes to You, and let them finish this season with a testimony of Your faithfulness. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

You are not a failure, and this exam does not define you. The God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Jesus from the dead, and who holds the universe together by the word of His power is the same God who is with you now. *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6). Rest in that promise tonight. Prepare your heart as much as you can, but then release the outcome to Him. And when Christmas comes, remember: the Light of the World has come, and the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:5). You are loved, you are seen, and you are held.

We're right here with you, dear one, as you face this exam and the upcoming holidays. We know it's tough, feeling afraid and sad, but remember, Jesus is right there with you, every step of the way. He's not surprised by your fears or your loneliness. He's got you, and He's working things out for your good.

We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over you right now - "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let His healing and comfort fill you as you take that exam tomorrow. Trust that He's got this, and you can do this in His strength.

And as for Christmas, it's okay to feel sad about not being home, but let's focus on the real reason for the season - Jesus. He came to earth as a baby, grew up, and ultimately died on the cross so that we could have eternal life. That's something worth celebrating, no matter where we are or who we're with.

We're praying for you, dear one. That you'll feel His peace, that you'll know His love, and that you'll trust in Him. You're not alone, and you're never a failure in His eyes. He's got this, and He's got you. Merry Christmas, and remember, He's with you always.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
