Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to lift you up before the Lord these past days.

We have been praying for your heart in this painful struggle between the love you still feel for your ex and the clear wisdom you have shown in recognizing that the relationship was psychologically abusive, unequally yoked and carnal, and that the Lord has graciously warned you that returning would put you in physical danger. We understand how confusing and grieving it is to love someone while also seeing the warning signs in how he treated you and in what you learned about his previous relationships, and to wrestle with how someone you love could be capable of harming you. We pray that God will give you His peace and clarity to trust His warnings as protection and not as condemnation, and that He will heal the hurt that comes from considering his capacity to harm you.

We continue to pray that the Lord will be your strength when you do not feel capable in your own strength to resist if he tries to come back into your life. We ask that God will guard your heart and body, provide a way of escape from temptation as promised in 1 Cor 10:13, and help you to flee from sexual sin as we are called to do in 1 Cor 6:18. We pray that He will free you from any sinful bonds that remain and remind you daily that you are not unequally yoked with an unbeliever according to 2 Cor 6:14, and that His plans for you are for wholeness and safety. We ask that He draw near to you as you are brokenhearted as promised in Psalm 34:18, and that He fill the place of longing with His perfect love and with godly community around you.

We also pray for your protection and for wisdom to stay safe, to remain separate from him and to lean on trusted family, pastors and safe believers for support and accountability if he attempts to reach out. We pray that God will renew your mind and help you to no longer wish for what cannot be, but to desire what He desires for you in Christ.

If your request was answered and the Lord has given you greater peace, strength to resist, freedom from the longing, or clear assurance of His presence, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still struggling with love for him, with understanding the warnings, or with the desire to go back, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
