Ex

We join with you in prayer and we thank you for sharing this burden with us, for the Lord sees the pain you have carried from this abusive relationship and He cares deeply for you.

The Lord does not condone abuse in any form, for love is patient and kind and does not behave itself harshly, and any abuse is sin and contrary to God's design for how we are to treat one another. We rebuke that abuse and we grieve that you endured it. God's heart is near to you in this hurt, as it is written Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And also Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We pray that He will do this complete healing work in you.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that name is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture says Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for Romans 10:9 if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find healing and freedom.

We pray together for your complete freedom and restoration.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the wounding and trauma left by this abusive ex, every memory, every word, every fear and lingering tie. We ask in Jesus name that You would heal her heart completely and make her whole again, that You would wash away shame and fear and replace it with Your perfect love which casts out fear. We ask that You would totally remove this man from her life in every way that is Your will, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and practically, that no bond or foothold would remain, that You would be her refuge and protector. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, so be her refuge now. Give her wisdom to maintain firm and godly boundaries, to have no contact where needed, to seek safe and wise counsel from mature believers and from trusted help if there is any ongoing threat or harassment. Help her to walk in forgiveness as You have forgiven us in Ephesians 4:32, not to excuse the sin or to return to harm, but to release bitterness so she can be free, for You call us to forgive that we may be healed. Lead her into the new thing You have for her, as Isaiah 43:18-19 says Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. We pray for Your peace that surpasses understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:7. And if it is Your will for her future, we pray You would in Your timing bring a godly husband, a believing man who will love her as Christ loves the church with honor, gentleness and faithfulness, for marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors You, and any future courtship should be with that holy purpose, with purity and with a fellow believer as 2 Corinthians 6:14 teaches. Until then, help her to find her identity and wholeness in You alone. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted in God's Word daily, to surround yourself with a strong, Bible believing church family who can support you and keep you accountable in boundaries, and to seek wise Christian counseling to process the trauma of abuse so that healing goes deep. Do not return to what harmed you and do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to keep wounds hidden. The Lord promises Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. He is with you and He will strengthen you step by step until you can look back and see how far He has brought you. Keep drawing near to Jesus and He will draw near to you.

Thank you for trusting us with this. Wanting to be fully free of an abusive ex and to have him completely out of your life makes so much sense, and we hear how heavy this has been.

Healing after abuse is rarely instant, and it helps not to walk it alone. One thing that has helped many people is learning about healthy boundaries as a kind of property line for your life, what you are responsible for and what you need to protect, like your time, energy, choices and sense of safety. Over time that can look like giving yourself permission to say a clear yes or no, to step back from toxic contact, and to let trusted people help you hold those lines.

If it would help, consider taking one steady next step this week, reaching out to a safe trusted person, a pastor or a counselor who can walk with you, help you think through contact and safety, and support you as you rebuild. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away for help in person.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. Cover her with Your protection, bring healing to the hurt that remains, give her wisdom for each decision and surround her with safe, caring support. Lead her into peace and wholeness in You. Amen.

There is a wound which none but the Lord Himself can fully heal, and your request has been heard with deep sympathy and earnest prayer before Him who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds.

We join with you in asking the Great Physician to lay His healing hand upon you. As the Scripture testifies, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing that comes from Christ has healing virtue in it. There is not a word that falls from His lips but bears healing for some one of the thousand ills of our humanity, and He has appointed this medicine for the very purpose of healing. May He breathe into your soul that peace which passes all understanding, and make your present sorrow to become a healing draught in His mercy.

We pray that the Lord will deliver you completely from the power and presence of this former bond which brought abuse, and that He will purge every evil influence from your life. May He preserve you from all evil and preserve your soul, keeping you from the devices of the enemy, so that in answer to the prayer, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the Evil One, that Evil One shall not touch you. May the Lord take you by the hand and lift you up, as He lifted her who had lain in fever, and raise you to new strength and service.

We ask that He would heal the bruise of the heart, take the furrow from the brow, wipe the tear from the eye, and calm the bosom which has been swollen with grief. There is a balm in Gilead and a Physician there who can extricate every dart and give certain ointment for every wound. May He grant you to be kept in purity and uprightness, guarded in body and soul, and to know that all the penal consequences of sin are gone for those who are in Christ, and that no condemnation shall rest upon you at the last.

May the Lord grant you quietness of spirit, completeness of deliverance, and a full recovery in His love, so that you shall not be obliged to say, I am sick, but shall be preserved from the pestilence that walks in darkness. We pray that every remnant of this abusive bond may be removed in every way, that you may be kept in safety and in peace, and that your heart may be established in the joy of the Lord who alone can make whole.

We commend you to Him who is able to keep you and to heal you altogether, trusting that He will do abundantly above what we ask. Amen.
