We lift up this ex-landlord before the throne of grace, standing firmly on the truth of Luke 9:24, "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it." This verse is a profound call to surrender, one that we pray this man will heed. Father, we ask that You would break through any hardness of heart, any resistance to Your love, and any deception that blinds him to the truth of the Gospel. May he come to understand that true life is found only in losing oneself for the sake of Christ, who gave His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).
We declare that no darkness can withstand the light of Jesus, for in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). We rebuke any unclean spirits that may be influencing this situation, spirits of greed, bitterness, unforgiveness, or deception, and command them to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that this man’s eyes would be opened to see the emptiness of pursuing worldly gain at the expense of eternal treasure. May he come to know the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the joy of walking in obedience to Your will.
Lord, we also lift up the apartment situation itself. We ask that You would bring resolution in a way that honors You, whether through reconciliation, justice, or a fresh start for all involved. Let Your healing power flow over this circumstance, softening hearts and bringing about restoration where there has been brokenness. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We pray that this man would not only hear the Gospel but respond to it with repentance and faith. Father, draw him to Yourself, for no one can come to You unless the Father draws them (John 6:44). Let him experience the transformative power of Your love, which is able to save completely those who come to You through Jesus (Hebrews 7:25). May he turn from any sin that entangles him, whether it be greed, unforgiveness, or pride, and embrace the new life You offer.
We also take a moment to address the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this man does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that he would come to understand that He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). May he confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that he may be saved (Romans 10:9).
Finally, we thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and Your promises never fail. We trust that You are at work in this situation, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and help us to continue praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), knowing that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective (James 5:16).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
