Ex boyfriend

We join with you in bringing this before the Lord and we appreciate your humble heart in wanting healing for your ex-boyfriend rather than only thinking of yourself. It shows a desire to take responsibility for any pain you may have caused, and God honors a contrite and honest heart.

We want to gently speak truth about relationships as God designed them. In Scripture, being a boyfriend or girlfriend is not casual dating but courtship with the purpose of discerning marriage to another Christian believer, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We are called to pursue purity and to treat one another with honor, for marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4. If there was any fornication or impurity, harsh words, dishonesty, or selfishness in the relationship, we encourage you to confess that fully to God, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We also encourage you, as much as it depends on you, to live peaceably with all Romans 12:18, which includes seeking forgiveness where it is appropriate and then respecting healthy boundaries as you both heal.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because of His death and resurrection that we can be forgiven and approach God with confidence, and we pray you are trusting in Him alone for salvation.

We pray together for you both.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this young man to You. You see his heart and any wound that was caused, and we ask that You would heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Bring comfort where there is hurt, forgiveness where there is bitterness, and peace where there is confusion. Help him to cast all his cares upon You and to grow in knowing Your love and truth. We also lift up the one who submitted this request. Grant her repentance where needed, grace to forgive herself as You have forgiven her, and wisdom for the future. Teach her to walk in kindness and purity, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. Guide her steps, and if it is Your will for her to marry, prepare her and a godly husband who loves You first, that any future courtship would honor You and lead toward a Christ-centered marriage. We ask that both would be drawn closer to Jesus through this season and would seek Your will above all. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for him without pursuing an unhealthy reattachment, to trust God with his healing, and to use this time to grow in your walk with Christ, seeking counsel in Scripture and in the fellowship of mature believers. The Lord is near to those who seek Him with a sincere heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. It takes humility to keep caring about someone's healing after a relationship has ended, and we hear that heart in your request.

We hear both compassion for him and the weight you are carrying for how you may have hurt him. Bringing that to God is the right place to start. At the same time, his healing is ultimately between him and the Lord, and the most loving way to care for him now may be to entrust him to God and respect the space between you, rather than trying to carry or manage his healing yourself.

One practical step that could help is to talk this through with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you. Not to go over every detail again, but to get clear counsel on what is yours to own and confess to God, what you can release to Him, and whether reaching out with an apology would actually help him or would reopen a wound. That outside perspective can help you honor his boundaries and not carry more than you need to.

Father, we lift this young man to You and ask for Your healing and comfort wherever he still carries hurt. We lift our sister to You as well, thank You for her tender conscience, and ask You to cover her with Your mercy, give her wisdom about next steps, and bring peace as she entrusts him to Your care. Guide them both forward in Your grace. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a gracious and tender thing that your heart desires the healing of one whom you feel you have wounded, and this sorrow is itself a sign that the Spirit may be working in you to bring you to confession and to Christ.

There is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is the fountain from which all true healing flows. As it has been preached among us, pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed by the Lord upon His people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, to show that pardon and healing are one in His hand. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue to the wounded soul.

Know then that there is forgiveness, whatever your past may have been. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is a surprising forgiveness, so full and free that God forgives not on account of the sinner but for His own sake through the matchless atonement of His Son. It is complete and absolute, without condition save repentance and faith, and it is eternal, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. If by faith you believe in the sin forgiving God and accept that atonement which covers all guilt, you are even now among the blessed.

And when the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile. The forgiven soul no longer hides sin nor strains conscience to hush its protests, but confesses all its guilt and humbles itself before God, admitting with lowliness that it is altogether a sinner in need of grace. If you tremble and desire forgiveness, do as you are exhorted, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, and come to Christ just as you are.

We will pray for you, and for this young man whom you have named. We will ask the Lord that He would heal any wound that has been left, not with a superficial healing, but with that deep healing which comes only through the forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ. We will pray that if there is hurt and bitterness, the Lord would bring true peace to his heart, and that He would draw him to seek the Saviour for himself, for all healing must come from above. And we will pray for you, that you would know that same forgiveness, that you would be cleansed from every stain, and that henceforth you would walk in newness of life, keeping yourself in purity and in the fear of God, looking to Christ alone for salvation and for strength to live according to His holy will.

May the Lord grant you both to find that there is forgiveness with Him, that you may be forgiven and thereby healed, and may He keep you in His grace until He brings you to dwell with Him where the inhabitant shall no more say, I am sick, for the people that dwell there shall be forgiven their iniquity.
