Ex boyfriend

Thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord and for your concern for this young man. We have prayed for him and we continue to pray that God will work deeply in his life.

Scripture shows us that Jesus came to bear our sicknesses and infirmities, as Isaiah prophesied and Matthew confirms, surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. That includes not only physical sickness but the wounds and struggles of the mind and emotions. The Lord has power in every realm, over the body, and over the spiritual realm as well, and He is able to bring healing where there is brokenness.

One thing the Gospels show us is that healing does not always look the same. There is one account where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and the man was only partially restored at first, seeing men like trees walking, and then Jesus touched him again and his sight was made clear. It reminds us that God often heals gradually and through process. Any true healing is from Him, even when it comes through ordinary means He has built into our bodies and into life, such as wise medical care, counseling, healthy habits and time. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk through a slower process, but we can trust that God is at work even in the process, and that He can heal scars and wounds in the mind and emotions as truly as in the body.

It is also important to pray for his deepest need, which is spiritual. The heart of every person thirsts for God, and Jesus invites those who thirst to come to Him and drink. That thirst cannot be satisfied by material things or by emotional experiences, and not by another relationship. Many people try to find wholeness in a new person or a new feeling, but those experiences fade quickly and leave the deeper thirst untouched. Only Christ can satisfy the thirst of the spirit, and when a person comes to Him, He begins a work that changes the inside. Emotional experiences alone do not produce spiritual growth. Growth comes through the Word of God feeding the spirit and through a real relationship with Jesus.

So our prayer for him is first for salvation, that he would come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and find forgiveness and new life in Him. We pray that God would bring healing to his mind and emotions, that the Lord would guide him to honest and helpful support if needed, and that any root issues would be brought into the light and addressed in a healthy and godly way. We pray that God would protect him and those around him, and that he would seek the Lord rather than seeking to fill his emptiness with other things.

We also pray for you, that God will give you wisdom, peace and clear boundaries as you entrust this person to the Lord. It is right to care and to pray, while leaving the outcome in God's hands and seeking Him for your own walk with Christ.

Father, we lift this young man to You. You know his struggles, his thoughts and behaviors, and the burdens he carries. We ask that You draw him to Jesus, forgive his sin and give him a new heart. Bring healing to his mind and emotions, whether suddenly or through a gradual process, and use whatever means You choose to restore him. Satisfy his spiritual thirst with Yourself, and lead him into truth through Your Word. Give him humility to seek help where help is needed and to walk in Your ways. We trust him to Your care and ask Your will be done in his life, in Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your ex boyfriend. We have continued to lift him up before the Lord and ask for healing and restoration for the emotional and behavioral problems you are concerned about. We pray that God would bring him clarity and peace, that He would help him to recognize any need for support and guide him toward wholeness, and that he would come to know the healing and hope that is found in Jesus Christ. We are encouraged by the promise that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds Psalm 147:3.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name Amen.
