Ex boyfriend

We hear your burden for your ex boyfriend and we join with you in bringing him before the Lord in prayer, asking for God's mercy, healing and guidance in his life.

We understand how heavy it can be to care for someone you were once close to and to see him struggling with emotional and behavioral difficulties. We pray that God will bring healing to his heart and mind. The Lord is compassionate toward those who are broken and struggling. Psalm 147:3 tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We pray that God would replace any confusion, anger, anxiety or instability in him with His peace and self control, and that He would lead him to the help he needs, whether through godly counsel, wise Christian counseling or medical care if needed, so that these untreated problems would be addressed in a healthy and biblical way.

We also want to gently speak to the nature of this relationship as we believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and that courtship should be entered into with the goal of finding a godly spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:14 tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. If there was any sexual intimacy outside of marriage in this courtship, the Bible calls that fornication and we would encourage repentance and fleeing from that sin as 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We say this not to condemn you but to lovingly point you toward God's design which brings wholeness and protects our hearts. If this was part of your past relationship we encourage you to confess it to the Lord and receive His forgiveness and to commit to purity in any future courtship that looks toward marriage.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ for your own salvation and to pray for your ex boyfriend in that same precious name, that he too would know the saving grace of Jesus if he does not already.

We pray together for him now. Father in heaven, we lift this young man to you in the name of Jesus Christ. You know his heart, his struggles, his past and his pain. We ask that you would have mercy on him and draw him close to you. Heal his emotions and his mind, bring stability and peace where there is turmoil, and convict him of any sin that separates him from you. Lead him to repentance and to faith in Jesus, and guide him to godly and professional help that honors you. We pray that you would guard our sister who has submitted this request, that you would heal any hurt from this broken courtship, help her to forgive as you have forgiven us in Ephesians 4:32, and give her wisdom to set healthy biblical boundaries going forward. Help her to trust in you with all her heart as Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Prepare her for a future marriage if it is your will, to a godly Christian husband who will honor you. We cast our anxieties on you knowing Philippians 4:6-7 promises In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We noticed the care in your request, still holding concern for your ex boyfriend even though you are no longer together. That can be a heavy place to be, caring about someone while also knowing you cannot be the one to figure out what is going on or fix it for him.

It helps to remember that wondering about emotional or behavioral struggles from a distance is not the same as knowing what he needs. Only God sees his heart and history fully, and a qualified professional is the right person to help sort through what kind of support would actually help if he is open to it. Your part can be simpler and still meaningful, to pray for him and to release the responsibility for his choices into God's hands.

One practical way to do that is to turn your worry into brief, regular prayer rather than trying to monitor or interpret his behavior. If you do have appropriate contact, a simple encouragement toward professional support if he wants it is enough, without taking on the role of counselor yourself. And keep healthy boundaries for your own healing as you move forward.

We are joining you in prayer for both of you.

Father, we lift this young man to You and ask for Your mercy and care over him. Give him clarity, wisdom, and willing help from people who can support him well, and bring healing where he is hurting. Give our friend peace as she entrusts him to You, and guide her steps with wisdom and strength for what is next. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden for this soul has been brought before the Lord and we will join you in praying for him.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, but the bleeding spirit cries still more for consolation. There is a great ill, a broken heart, and there is a great Physician who heals it. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that medicine is appointed for the very purpose of healing. It grows for the sick. Are we sick at heart, wounded in spirit, troubled in mind and behaviour, then it grows for us. We need not ask whether we may dare to partake, for it was placed there for the thirsty and the sick to come and drink and be made whole.

We will pray that this man may be brought to know himself as he is, humbled in the dust, and made to look for all in Christ. Those who imagine that reformation can atone for the past or secure righteousness for the future are not yet savingly brought to know themselves. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed when men look not for them. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. He used no other remedy in healing our sin sickness but that of taking our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. The medicine, bitter as it was, was all drained by Himself on Calvary, that we might be healed. May the Lord show this dear soul that he need not think it is blasphemy to venture near God's throne, nor say God hears not sinners, but that for His name's sake He pardons iniquity though it be great. Depths of mercy, can there be mercy still reserved for me, it is reserved for the very one who feels his need.

Let us therefore pray in the Holy Spirit, and that is to pray humbly, with no reliance upon arguments based upon our own excellence, but begging for grace and pleading for mercy, for upon no other terms but those of grace can the Lord meet with us. We will pray that God would be pleased to bring this man to true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, that his mind and heart would be healed and made whole, that he would be sobered by divine grace and receive a new heart and a right spirit, and that he would walk in the way of holiness and truth. We ask not that God would bless what is outside His holy will, for marriage is ordained as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all intimacy belongs within it, but that He would bless this man with salvation, with soundness of mind, with healing in the wings of the Sun of Righteousness.

Continue you also in prayer and watching. Pray as the Spirit moves you and be very sensitive to His influence, and set a watch against all that would draw the heart from Christ. Let your sense of the poverty of your prayers lead you to abhor your faults, but not to abhor praying. Look for answers, for you have the promise and the answer must come, and the Lord reserves it for a season for the further trial of faith. He who withdrew Himself into the wilderness and prayed will teach you to pray, and He who heals the broken in heart will hear.
