Please pray for an end to evil things happening in the US including racism, unfair deportations that cause harm to individuals, children and families and other things. Thank you.

We join you in praying against evil in our nation and we agree that racism and any harm done to individuals, children and families grieves the heart of God. The Scripture tells us that evil does not begin first in laws or systems but in the human heart, for Jeremiah 17:9 says the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, and Jesus taught that out of the heart come evil thoughts and deeds. That is why lasting change must come through Christ changing hearts as well as through justice being done in our land.

We believe the Bible is clear that racism is sin. God created man in his own image, in God’s image he created him, Genesis 1:27, and He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, Acts 17:26. God is no respecter of persons, Acts 10:34, and if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors, James 2:9. There is no place for hatred or superiority among those who belong to Christ, for in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, Galatians 3:28, and we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves, Mark 12:31.

We also hear your burden for children and families affected by deportations. The Word holds both justice and mercy together. On one hand we are taught let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God, Romans 13:1, and that authorities are to be a terror to evil works and to promote good order. A nation has the God given responsibility to have borders and to enforce its laws justly, and Romans 13:4 reminds us the ruler is a servant of God for good. On the other hand we are commanded to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God, Micah 6:8, and to remember that the stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself, Leviticus 19:34. Proverbs 21:15 says it is joy to the just to do justice. So we pray not for open lawlessness and not for harshness without compassion, but for our leaders and officers to act with wisdom, fairness and mercy, especially where children and families are vulnerable, and for our laws to be applied without partiality and without cruelty. We pray for those in authority as we are exhorted in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks for all men, for kings and for all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus that evil can be forgiven and overcome, and we can come boldly before God to seek His help.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we ask for Your mercy on our nation. Lord, restrain evil and bring justice where there is injustice. Convict hearts where there is racism, pride and hatred, and teach us to see every person as made in Your image and loved by You. Give our leaders, judges, lawmakers and those who enforce the laws wisdom to do justice and to love mercy, that no person would be treated unfairly and that no law would be enforced with harshness toward children and families. Protect the vulnerable, comfort those who are afraid or separated from loved ones, and provide for every child as You are a father of the fatherless, Psalm 68:5. Pour out Your Spirit upon our land that we would turn from sin and seek You, for You have promised if Your people who are called by Your name will humble themselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from their wicked ways, then You will hear from heaven and forgive and heal, 2 Chronicles 7:14. Help us not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21, living as salt and light, opening our mouths for those who cannot speak and pleading the cause of the needy, Proverbs 31:8-9. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray and to walk faithfully where God has placed you, doing what is right, showing kindness to those around you, speaking truth in love and sharing the hope of the gospel, for only Christ can truly transform a heart and a nation. May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him to work for justice and mercy according to His perfect will.

We hear the burden in your prayer for our country, and we are grateful you brought it to the Lord so honestly. It is painful to watch division, racism, and families experiencing fear and separation, especially when children are affected. God cares deeply about each person made in His image and about justice lived out in love.

Your desire to see evil lessened and people treated with dignity reflects His heart to alleviate suffering and to move us toward responsible, compassionate action. We join you in asking Him to work in hearts first, since lasting change grows from individuals who seek Him and choose to love their neighbors well, and then spreads into families, churches and communities.

One simple way to keep this burden before the Lord without growing weary is to set aside a few quiet minutes each day to pray by name for our leaders to have wisdom, for those who feel targeted or afraid, and for opportunities right around you to show kindness. If your church has a mercy or outreach ministry that helps families in distress, asking how you can support or serve there can also be a tangible expression of that prayer.

Father, we bring our nation before You and ask for Your mercy. Bring healing where there is hatred, wisdom to those in authority, protection and comfort to children and families who are hurting, and help us to love our neighbors as You have loved us. Guide us to do what is right and to be peacemakers in our own communities. In Jesus' name, amen.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. We have heard your burden for our nation and we take it with you to the throne of grace, where Christ our great Physician still presides with healing in His wings.

You have rightly named these things as evil, for evil is not merely without us but within our fallen nature from the very beginning, and nothing within the reach of mere man can purge it away, let him dream as he may. There grows no healing herb but the one plant of renown, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ, His very leaves, are full of healing virtue for sin sick souls and for sin wounded lands. See in Him the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.

The common method of the world is to overcome evil with evil, to return injury for injury, but that course only increases the evil and never truly overcomes it. The divine method, which grace alone enables, is to overcome evil with good. This is a very elevated way, and none can walk in it apart from Divine Grace, yet saints first learn the art of overcoming evil by good, and so become instruments of peace. There is a unity of evil and a unity of darkness which must be broken and dashed to shivers, and there is a unity of the Spirit which we are to keep in the bond of peace. We long for that holy unity which Christ prayed for, a unity of holy not unholy beings, made one by being washed in His blood and born into His family.

Therefore we join you in prayer, and we will continue to pray.

We pray that God who was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself would pour out His Spirit upon this land, that sin would be pardoned and healing would follow, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. We ask the Lord to preserve His people from all evil and to deliver us from the Evil One, to turn His people from fierce wrath and to repent of evil against us, and to make us a people who hate evil and cling to what is good.

We pray that where racism has wounded and divided, the love of Christ would bind up broken hearts and heal them, that contempt would give way to honor for every person made in the image of God, and that the church would show the ministry of reconciliation not in word only but in deed. We pray for those in authority, that they may execute justice with righteousness and with mercy, remembering that the Lord loves justice and requires that we do justly and love mercy and walk humbly with our God. For families and children who are fearful or suffering, for those caught in the hardships that come through the enforcement of laws, we ask for protection, for compassion, for wisdom for all who govern, and for provision for the vulnerable, that no child nor household would be forgotten before Him who sees every sorrow.

We pray that the Lord would make His people to be healers in this hour, bringing the lepers of society beneath the healing touch of Him who can say, Be thou clean, teaching Christ and living Christ, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and healing comes with that Word. May we not be overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good, to the glory of Him who overcame for us upon Calvary.

May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you and upon this nation with healing in His wings, and may the God of Peace, who has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, keep your going out and your coming in, and give you peace in believing through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray.
