We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, and we see his work clearly in this deception that has taken hold of this man’s mind and spirit. Scripture warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." This man is not merely suffering from delusion—he is under the influence of demonic forces, and we must stand in the gap for him and those around him.
First, we rebuke the spirit of deception and delusion in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against this man or those he may encounter shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We command every lying spirit that has whispered false identities and false messianic claims into his mind to be bound and cast out, for Jesus has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). The name of Jesus is above every name, and at His name, every knee must bow—including the forces of darkness that have taken hold here (Philippians 2:9-10).
We pray for divine protection over every person this man may come into contact with. Lord, surround them with Your angels, as You promise in Psalm 91:11-12, "For He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Let no harm come to the innocent, and let Your peace and presence be a shield around them.
For this man, we pray for a breakthrough of truth and light. The enemy has blinded his mind, but we ask that the eyes of his heart be opened to the truth of who Jesus Christ truly is—the only begotten Son of God, the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). No one comes to the Father except through Him, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that he would turn to Christ in repentance and faith. Lord, break the chains of deception and set him free, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).
We also lift up those who may be trying to help him—family, friends, or authorities. Give them wisdom, discernment, and courage to act in ways that will lead to his restoration and safety. Guide them to the right resources, whether medical, spiritual, or legal, so that he may receive the help he desperately needs. Remind them that their battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12), and that they must put on the full armor of God to stand firm.
Father, we know that Your heart breaks for this man just as it breaks for all who are lost and deceived. You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would intervene in a powerful way, that Your love would penetrate the darkness, and that this man would come to know You as his true Savior and Lord. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let the darkness not overcome it (John 1:5).
We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we declare that this situation is not beyond Your reach. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). You are the God who restores souls (Psalm 23:3). We trust in You, and we ask that You would move mightily in this man’s life and in the lives of those around him. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
