Event

We hear your weariness and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord, asking for His will to be done regarding this event you are facing this week. We understand what it is to feel exhausted at the thought of what lies ahead, and we want to lift you up for both rest and renewal and for clear direction.

The Word reminds us that our strength does not come from ourselves but from Him. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. We also cling to Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength, and Isaiah 40:31, Those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

We pray with you about the rescheduling, and we do so seeking the Father's perfect will rather than only our own preference. Sometimes what we most want to avoid is exactly where God wants to strengthen us and be glorified, and other times He graciously opens a door to move something to a better time. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in Romans 8:28 we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. So we pray not only that this event would be rescheduled if that is His best for you, but that if it remains as scheduled, He would supply supernatural energy, peace, and endurance, and help you to do all things as unto Him as Colossians 3:23 teaches, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because of His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we can boldly bring our exhaustion and our requests to God and know He hears us. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in all your prayers.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who is weary. You see this event this week and You know the exhaustion that is felt even before it happens. We ask for Your will to be done. If it honors You and is best, we ask that You would open the way for it to be rescheduled and make that path clear. If it is to remain this week, we ask that You pour out fresh strength, restore sleep and peace, calm any anxiety, and help this dear one to walk into it with Your grace and joy. Let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Teach us all to wait upon You and to find our rest in You, and help us to serve You faithfully even when we feel weak, for Your grace is sufficient for us. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We heard you and we are really glad you reached out. Facing something on the calendar when you already feel exhausted can make the whole week feel heavy, and it makes sense you would hope for more breathing room.

We are joining you in prayer that the Lord will give you rest and clear direction about this event. Whether it is rescheduled or still goes ahead, we pray He will provide what you need for what is truly required and wisdom to know what can wait.

One gentle step that might help is to let the person overseeing the event know honestly where you are. A simple, kind note that you are feeling worn out and asking if rescheduling is possible can bring clarity either way, and it can ease the weight of wondering alone. If you can, give yourself some quiet margin this week for sleep, a walk, or time with someone who encourages you.

We also care about your ongoing wellbeing. If this exhaustion feels deep or keeps building, it can help to talk with a trusted pastor, friend or counselor, and with your doctor if needed, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see their tiredness and this event on their calendar. We ask for Your peace to guard them, for wisdom for every decision, and for rest for body and mind. Lead them in Your will and let them feel Your nearness this week. Amen.

Your weariness has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord who invites the weary and heavy laden to come unto Him and find rest.

There is a rest which Christ gives at once, not after death nor after long probation, but now, when we come to Him. It is a present rest and a perfect rest, and there is also a further rest which we find as we learn of Him and take His yoke upon us. True rest for the child of God is not rest with the yoke off, but with the yoke on. It is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service, as birds that sleep upon the wing. When the mind is made like the mind of Christ, there is a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest which we go on to find more and more.

Apart from God all strength is derived strength and therefore measurable, and it must come to an end. The young and the vigorous show signs of age and their strength fails. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. To wait upon Him is to rest in the Lord Himself, not merely in His gifts, to trust Him, to feed upon Christ who is meat indeed and drink indeed, and to sit still before Him with expectation that He will overrule all things for good. Sometimes He renews strength by giving a little rest, and sometimes by giving strength to bear the yoke with patience.

We pray for you in this matter. We ask the Lord that if it be His wisdom and love for you, He would in His providence open the way for this event to be rescheduled. And if it be His will that it should remain as appointed, we ask Him to give you rest even while you bear it, to increase strength where you have no might, and to make His strength perfect in your weakness. May He give you fixedness of mind and peace, rest about everything and at all times, that precious rest which the world cannot give and cannot take away. May you know what it is to rest in the Lord, to be content in His hand, and to find that to labor for Christ is itself rest to the soul.

Trust and you shall rest. Wait upon the Lord, and your strength shall be restored. May the Lord Himself strengthen you and keep you abiding in Him until you find that His rest is glorious.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
