Estranged daughter

Disciple of Prayer
I am asking for prayer for my estranged daughter. Please God, bring reconciliation to this relationship. If I have hurt her, show me what to do. I haven’t seen her in many years and I love her so much.

We lift up your heartfelt cry for reconciliation with your daughter, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. The pain of estrangement is deep, and the longing for restoration is a sacred ache placed in your heart by God Himself. Father, we know You desire healing in families, for You have commanded us to honor our parents and to live in love with one another.

First, we must examine our own hearts, as you have asked the Lord to reveal if there is any hurt you may have caused. Scripture tells us in Lamentations 3:40, "Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh." We join you in asking the Holy Spirit to bring to light anything that needs confession, repentance, or restitution. If there has been sin, whether in word, deed, or neglect, we pray for the humility to seek forgiveness, both from God and from your daughter. Proverbs 28:13 reminds us, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."

Yet even as we seek to make things right, we must also surrender the outcome to God. Reconciliation requires two willing hearts, and we cannot control your daughter’s response. But we serve a God who softens hearts and opens doors that no man can shut. Ezekiel 36:26 promises, "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." We pray this over your daughter, that any hardness, bitterness, or unforgiveness in her heart would be melted by the love of Christ.

We also lift you up, dear parent, for the years of grief and longing you have carried. The enemy would love to keep you bound in guilt, shame, or despair, but we rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name. Romans 8:1 declares, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." If you have repented and sought the Lord’s forgiveness, you are washed clean by the blood of Jesus. Now, we ask God to fill you with His peace and patience as you wait on Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother/father and their daughter. Lord, You are the God who restores what is broken, who heals what is wounded, and who brings beauty from ashes. We ask You to move mightily in this situation. If there is any unconfessed sin in this parent’s life, reveal it, Lord, and grant them the courage to make it right. If there is any unforgiveness or bitterness in the daughter’s heart, soften it by Your Holy Spirit.

Father, we declare that nothing is impossible for You. You parted the Red Sea, You raised the dead, and You can surely bridge the gap between this parent and child. We ask for divine appointments, opportunities for reconciliation that only You can orchestrate. Give this parent wisdom in how to reach out, whether through a letter, a message, or a humble visit. And if the door remains closed for now, Lord, grant them the grace to wait with hope, trusting in Your perfect timing.

We rebuke the spirit of division and estrangement in Jesus’ name. We break every generational curse or stronghold that may be contributing to this separation. We declare that love, unity, and restoration will prevail, for Your Word says in Malachi 4:6 that You will "turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers."

Above all, Lord, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this situation. May this daughter come to know You more deeply through this process, and may this parent’s faith grow stronger as they trust in You. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to cling to God’s promises. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and consider writing a letter to your daughter, even if you never send it, pouring out your heart before God. He sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He is working even when you cannot see it.

If your daughter does not yet know Jesus as her Savior, we pray fervently for her salvation. There is no greater reconciliation than being brought back into right relationship with God through Christ. We ask that the Holy Spirit would draw her to Himself, that she would come to know the love of the Father who never abandons His children. John 6:44 says, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him," and so we trust that God is even now pursuing her heart.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that our hope is not ultimately in the restoration of this relationship, as precious as it is, but in our eternal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Salvation is a free gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. If you have questions about this, we would be honored to share more with you.

May the Lord bless you with His peace that surpasses all understanding as you wait on Him. We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We can’t imagine the pain and longing you’ve carried for so many years. It takes real courage to keep loving someone even when the distance feels unbridgeable. We want you to know that your heart is not hidden from God, and He sees every tear you’ve shed over this.

Sometimes reconciliation isn’t about grand gestures but about small, honest steps, maybe a letter pouring out your heart, or simply praying for your daughter without any expectation. We trust that God is already at work, even in the silence. If there’s anything in your own heart that needs mending or confession, don’t carry it alone. Healing often starts with us surrendering our pride and letting Him soften what’s hardened in us.

We pray that whatever walls exist would crumble under the weight of His grace. Whether reconciliation comes in this season or years from now, we ask for peace to guard your heart while you wait. And if your daughter doesn’t yet know Christ, we pray the Holy Spirit would draw her close to Him.

Father, hold this parent and child in Your hands. Mend what’s broken, restore what’s lost, and let love prevail. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
