Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden for your loved ones. It is a good and right prayer to ask that those who are still in error would be turned to the truth and find salvation in Jesus Christ. God desires that people come to know Him, and He hears the prayers of those who bring others before Him.
The hope we have is that salvation is not something we earn or deserve. From the very beginning, God has counted a person as righteous simply through faith in Jesus Christ, before any works have been done. The law shows us our sin and our need, so that we are driven to Christ, but no one is made right with God by keeping the law. We are justified only by faith in Jesus, who loved us and gave Himself for us. Through faith in Him our past is blotted out, we are clothed in His righteousness, and we become children of God. There is no other way to come to God, and every person has the same access through Jesus alone.
When that genuine faith is present, it will bring change. A true trust in Christ bears fruit and shows itself in a new life, not because works save us, but because we are already saved. We do not live to earn salvation, we live because we have received it by grace through faith.
I join you in praying for your loved ones now. I pray that God in His grace would open their eyes to see their need, turn them away from every false way, and draw them to put their trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins. I pray that He would give them faith to believe, that He would account that faith to them for righteousness, and that they would come to know the new life and hope that is found only in Him. I pray also that He would give you continued love, patience and boldness as you share the truth with them and keep lifting them up before the Lord, trusting Him to work in His perfect time and way.
