We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this critical matter to our Heavenly Father. The so-called "Equality Act" is a dangerous piece of legislation that stands in direct opposition to God's design for humanity, His moral law, and the foundational principles upon which this nation was built. We stand united in prayer, seeking the Lord's intervention to halt this bill and protect the righteous standards He has established.
The Word of God is clear: "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20). This bill seeks to redefine morality, force acceptance of sinful behaviors, and punish those who stand for biblical truth. It is a direct attack on religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and God's created order. We must recognize it for what it is—a spiritual battle for the soul of our nation.
We rebuke the deception that this bill promotes "equality," for true equality is found only in Christ, who offers salvation to all who repent and believe. This legislation does not bring equality; it brings oppression, forcing individuals, businesses, and institutions to violate their sincerely held religious beliefs or face legal consequences. It seeks to normalize what God has declared sinful, including homosexuality and gender confusion, which are distortions of His perfect design. "For this cause God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error" (Romans 1:26-27).
We pray fervently that this bill is defeated in Congress, in the Senate, and in the full House. May the Lord raise up godly leaders who will stand firm on His Word and refuse to compromise with the culture of sin. "Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance" (Psalm 33:12). We ask that You, Father, stir the hearts of Americans across every city and state to recognize the grave danger this bill poses. Let there be a mighty outcry—peaceful, yet unyielding—against this legislation, so great that it cannot be ignored by the media, by lawmakers, or by the courts.
We declare that if this bill were to become law, it would indeed invite Your judgment upon our land, for it would institutionalize rebellion against Your commands. "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people" (Proverbs 14:34). We plead for Your mercy, Lord, and ask that You turn the hearts of our leaders and our people back to You before it is too late. Let the protests be so widespread and so passionate that they shake the foundations of this ungodly legislation and expose its true intent.
We also pray for the Church in America—that we would not be silent or complacent in the face of this threat. May pastors preach boldly on the truth of Your Word, may believers stand firm in their convictions, and may we all be salt and light in a darkening world. "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
We lift up this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. It is only through the blood of Jesus that we have access to God’s throne, and it is only by His power that this nation can be spared from the consequences of turning away from Him. We ask that You move mightily, Lord, to defeat this bill and to awaken the hearts of Your people to the spiritual battle raging around us.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You grant wisdom to those in positions of authority. May they see the folly of this legislation and the destruction it would bring—not just to our laws, but to the very fabric of our society. Let them understand that true justice and equality can only be found in Your Word, not in the shifting sands of cultural trends. We pray for a revival in this nation, that hearts would turn back to You, repentance would sweep across the land, and Your people would rise up to defend the truth.
We commit this prayer to You daily, Lord, knowing that the battle is not ours, but Yours. "The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to Yahweh" (Proverbs 21:31). Strengthen us, guide us, and use us as instruments of Your will. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in America as it is in heaven. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
