We join you in this desire to honor the Lord even in how we spend our leisure time, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
The world offers countless forms of entertainment that may seem harmless but can slowly draw our hearts away from Christ, filling our minds with impurity, violence, crude joking, gossip, or the glorification of sin. We are called to be set apart and to guard what we allow before our eyes and into our hearts. As it is written, I will set no vile thing before my eyes Psalm 101:3, and Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. Much of modern entertainment conforms us to the world rather than transforming us to Christ, and we must lovingly rebuke the temptation to be entertained by things that grieve the Holy Spirit.
Instead we are instructed, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. And Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God 1 Corinthians 10:31. This includes our entertainment. Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Colossians 3:17. We are also exhorted to redeem the time, because the days are evil, and to walk wisely Ephesians 5:15-16, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord Ephesians 5:19.
We pray together for you and for ourselves in this.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for the joy and rest You intend for Your children, and we ask You to give us wisdom and discernment in our entertainment. Help us to turn away from anything that pollutes our minds, dulls our love for You, or causes us to waste the time You have given us. Lead us to godly ways to rejoice, to laugh, to rest, and to fellowship, whether through music that praises You, through wholesome fellowship with other believers, through enjoying the beauty of Your creation, through games and stories that are pure and uplifting, and through serving others. Fill our hearts with a greater delight in You than in the fleeting pleasures of this world, and help us to choose what is true and pure and worthy of praise. Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and help us to do all to Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to test all things and hold firmly to that which is good, asking before any show, music, game, or activity whether it helps you love the Lord more, whether you would be comfortable if Jesus were sitting beside you, and whether it builds up your faith and the faith of others. As you seek Him first, He will show you joyful and clean ways to be refreshed and entertained that truly honor Him.

We appreciate you bringing this before Jesus. Wanting entertainment that actually refreshes instead of just filling time is a good and honest desire, and it is not always easy to find with so much coming at us.
We think of recreation at its best as re-creation, a chance for mind and body to be renewed together. It is not just distraction but relaxation, play, kinship and laughter that leaves you lighter and more able to love God and others well. That kind of joy often happens in simple, shared things rather than expensive or flashy ones.
A couple of small next steps that have helped others:
Take a quick look at what you are watching, listening to or scrolling through now and notice afterwards how you feel, more at peace or more restless, more connected or more isolated.
Then try swapping in one or two life giving alternatives this week, maybe a walk outdoors together, music you can sing along to, a table game, a hobby with your hands, serving alongside someone, or time with others from church where conversation and laughter come naturally. See what actually restores you.
Father, we thank You for making us to enjoy Your creation and each other. Guide our friend toward choices that bring true rest and clean joy, and surround them with companions who share that desire. Lead them to what renews them in You. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a wise and needful prayer you have brought before the Lord, that He would show you godly ways of entertainment, and we join our hearts with yours in asking it.
The world offers many amusements which do not profit the soul, but the Lord would have His people find their joy in that which is pure and holy and edifying. True recreation is not found in that which draws the heart away from Christ, but in that which refreshes the mind and strengthens it for a life of faith and obedience to the Lord. Whether ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
We pray that Jesus Christ will lead you to those pleasures which are most fitting for His redeemed people. May He give you delight in the fellowship of godly people, whose company and conversation hedge about the home with prayer and blessing, in the singing of psalms and hymns, in the beauties of His creation, and in those innocent refreshments which leave no sting upon the conscience. As you seek recreation, may you never make excuse to forsake the Lord's Day or the means of grace, for that day is fenced about for your benefit, and to be kept holy unto Him wheresoever you may be.
We ask the Lord to make your times of rest to be times of renewal, that coming from them you may be as those living trees which bring forth fruit unto God, and that your joy may be found most of all in Him in whom there are pleasures for evermore.
Father, grant to this dear soul discerning eyes to choose what is wholesome and to turn from what would defile, and let all their leisure be consecrated to Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
